Mr. Franck's science classes have been busy these past few weeks with a lot of hands-on projects. The Conceptual Physics class designed structures to protect eggs that were dropped from the crow's nest while 9th grade Earth Science has been creating topography maps to show their understanding of the Earth's surface. Nice work, Tigers!

Our grandparents/special guests are simply the best. 💕 Thank you for visiting us today and yesterday for Grandparents Day! Our kids look forward to this day every year and this year was no different.

If approved by voters, the estimated tax impact for a $386,100 home would be $23 per month for Question 1, $13 per month for Question 2, and $1 per month for Question 3. The Nevis Indian Education program finished gathering Bashkodejiibik (sage) last week at the school forest. Students Haidyn H., Noah G., Oliver H-G., Isaiah B., and Robert L. spent two mornings cutting and hauling it. Mrs. Carrier's 8th grade english class came out to participate in a smudging prior to the boys gathering it.

Students will clean and package it and make it available to parents, staff, and community members. If community members would like to pick some up they can contact Mr. Buckholtz or the Indian Education Program.

Nevis Tigers Football is holding their annual Tackle Cancer event tomorrow night and they're inviting all students to wear pajamas and/or a hat to school tomorrow for $1 (or $2 for both). Let's help raise some money for this great cause!

Tomorrow we are doing our Annual Tackle Cancer Hat and or Pajama fundraiser! Wear your favorite hat and/or pj's for a dollar (or $2 if you decide to do both) while raising funds for the Randy Shaver Research and Community Fund.

We are once again welcoming all grandparents and special guests for Grandparents' Day next week! Our kids look forward to this every year and we hope you can make it! Here are a few reminders:

▪️ Enter through the elementary ramp door #3
▪️ Doors open at 8:30am
▪️ Join us for a social hour from 8:30-9:00 in the cafeteria
▪️ Lunch is FREE-will-donation for grandparents/special guests this year. No lunch tickets will be issued.
▪️ Check out the Scholastic Book Fair in the small gym! It will (tentatively) be set up in the small gym for grandparents to browse and make purchases.

🌲 Our school forest is a busy place when the weather is nice.

🌲 A week or so ago, our 9th graders spent an afternoon in the forest attending "Amazing Stations". They completed activities such as building a catapult, learning a little wilderness first aid, playing the moccasin game, tackling team-building challenges, completing tree coring and analysis, and making a s'more. There may also have been a few sasquatches wandering around, just to keep everyone on their toes (thanks Bennett B. and Owen P. 🤣).

🌲 Our elementary STEM classes have also been busy with scavenger hunts and outdoor lessons.
