Who to Call and What to Do:
Emergency (Active Fire/Danger): 911 immediately. Unattended or illegal fires during a ban can cause, or have already caused, immediate danger to life and property.
Non-Emergency Reporting: If the burning is illegal but not immediately threatening to spread, call the non-emergency line for the local police or fire department.
State Environmental Agencies: In New York, violations can be reported to the NYS DEC at 1-844-DEC-ECOS (1-844-332-3267) or 1-833-NYS-RANGERS.

Today Past Chief Mike Congelosi had the privilege of attending the 47th Utica Fire Academy graduation. See his quoted Facebook post from his personal page...
