WHAT A BUSY DAY!

EVERYTHING was up in the air today! We learned all about clouds today and the number three. As we made our cloud craft I asked them what the cotton balls felt like and if they thought clouds would feel the same. We discussed how our "sky" was in the shape of a rectangle, our sun was a yellow circle and the clouds were "round" or sphere shaped. We learned the three different types of clouds - stratocumulus, altocumulus, and Cirrus and when we could see them, introduced matching, and danced.

Lunch: Grilled chicken, lettuce, cheese, Tortilla chips, banana and milk. (We pray before our lunch meal every day. Participation is encouraged, but not mandatory) We also talked today about waking up and thanking God for this beautiful day!

Vocabulary: sphere, stratocumulus, altocumulus, citrus.

Don't be afraid to use "big" words. Children learn quickly and it will help to expand their vocabulary if we use them with them.

For fun we discussed how Cookie Monster was blue and how he loves COOKIES! That chocolate chip cookies were brown with black dots. Then we made our very own Cookie Monster and chocolate chip cookies and had fun making Cookie Monster eat his cookie!

Last week we were busy lil ANTS!

We learned all about ants. We learned their body parts, how many legs they had, the different colors of ants, where they lived and what they ate. Then, for fun we sang and danced to the song THE ANTS GO MARCHING ALONG. We also learned that ants were attracted to food as we watched Curious George get rid of the ants in his apartment! As a craft we made our own ants. We discussed the color red and the circle shape. Then, I numbered the ant's body parts. The kids matched the numbers as they glued the ant parts together!

This activity covered so much and we were able to use all three different learning styles (visual, audible, and tactile) in one activity!
