Welcome back, Foundations in Teaching Students! 🎉

We started the day with some fun classroom culture-building activities, and then… when duty calls, we answer! 💪

All of our first-block high school students jumped in to help our kindergarteners make it through lunch. They were the best tiny pouch openers, Go-Gurt openers, Lunchable openers, tiny-question answerers, and tray-dumping helpers! 😂

It was truly all hands on deck, and they absolutely conquered it. Even more impressive? For many of our high school students, this was their very first interaction with students!

What a way to start the year. ❤️ I have a feeling it’s going to be a GREAT one!

Now that we’re finally home after our flight was delayed and us getting home around 6am yesterday 🫣🙃, I finally have a moment to reflect on what an incredible experience this week has been.

We couldn’t be more proud of Chloe for placing 7th in the NATION in Public Policy Advocate and earning a Gold rating! 🇺🇸🏅 This is an incredible accomplishment, and she represented our chapter, school, and community with excellence.

Lola may not have competed this year, but she returned home inspired with so many amazing ideas to help our chapter grow and become even more conneCTEd through FCCLA. We can’t wait to put those ideas into action this school year! ❤️🤍💙

As we wrap up an unforgettable week, we are overwhelmed by the generosity of the businesses, organizations, and individuals in our community who believe in investing in our students. Because of your support, these opportunities became a reality, and the impact will last far beyond this trip.

🇺🇸 What an unforgettable end to our sightseeing in Washington, D.C.! ❤️🤍💙

Yesterday we visited some of our nation’s most iconic landmarks, including the 🇺🇸 White House, the Lincoln Memorial, the Washington Monument, the World War I Memorial, World War II Memorial, Korean War Veterans Memorial, Vietnam Veterans Memorial, and countless other memorials that honor our country’s history and heroes. We also had the incredible opportunity to tour the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, a powerful and moving experience that left a lasting impression on all of us.

Today is the day we’ve been working toward… ⭐️ STAR Event Results! ⭐️

🇺🇸❤️ What a GREAT way to kick off our morning in Washington, D.C.! ❤️🇺🇸

This morning, we participated in the Rock the Red Rally on Capitol Hill ❤️🤍💙 before making one last trip through the Great American State Fair, where we officially completed our passports by collecting stamps from all 50 states! 🗺️📍🎉

We explored so many fun exhibits, checked out some amazing expos, and even made a fun GIF to remember the experience! 📸✨

Next up… we’re renting scooters 🛴 to cover even more ground as we continue exploring our nation’s capital! 🇺🇸

Today’s schedule was another full one!

❤️ We visited Senator Schmitt’s office.
🤍 We stopped by the U.S. Supreme Court and the U.S. Capitol.
💙 We explored the FCCLA Expo one more time.
❤️ We walked the Anacostia Riverwalk Trail to The Wharf.
🤍 We enjoyed dinner at a local Irish pub.
💙 We discovered a fun independent bookstore.
❤️ And, once again… we conquered the Metro! 🚇…kinda….thank goodness Lola can read the map better than Mrs. Mareth 🫣
