The end goal is to have multiple natural living developments all around the country and the world. These developments would be self-sustainable, producing food, water, and their own power. There would be a mixed tenant base of owners and renters. People of all ages living in harmony. The developments would be zoned mixed-use, with agriculture, residential, and commercial. Each of these developments would have its food coop store, coffee shop, yoga and meditation studio, food-producing farm, restaurants, and an art center with pottery studios, glass blowing, wood crafting, cloth making, and other skilled arts. The developments would have its hardware store, a naturopath doctor, an alternative medicine practitioner, natural builders, a spiritual center, as well a cooperative school teaching the kids in the community the arts, self-sustainably, natural building, and natural living principles. A small self-sustainable village like the days of old. For more information contact us at [email protected] or visit www.naturallivingdevelopments.com

When the natural living developments are completed, the recognition of this monumental task will be noted as an accomplishment by the community. Being one of the few places in the world with such a development should bring pride to the residents that helped it come to reality. The people from the community that made this possible will become its biggest cheerleaders and will bring others to see what they helped build. You can be a part of this monumental movement, to bring into reality what we have all been dreaming up. With your help and support, we can use our dollars to bring the change we want to see. The impact of the development on the local community is the fifth criterion. Natural living developments will hire local builders creating jobs and potentially creating a new industry. The natural building phases of the projects take a lot of labor to complete. The learning curve in a natural building is extremely fast. After a few days of doing the same task over and over again, the builders become highly efficient. It's not like in a conventional building where a trade can take years to master. The education of this labor can lead to the creation of a new building industry for the town. The opportunity of showcasing the natural buildings in the development can start a demand in the community for these types of homes. With the full support of the development company the newly trained labor force can move into the trades, focused on natural building. Another added benefit to the natural building is the diversified workforce with more than 50% being women. This is a great opportunity for women in the community to start their own construction businesses as natural builders and designers. Operating expenses, the third criterion. A conventionally built ground-up development has much lower operating expenses compared to a remodeled apartment complex. In all new developments, the appliances are under warranty, the roof, windows, and building materials are new, so in most cases there should not be any regular repairs needed. The utilities are low because eco-water-saving fixtures and energy-saving electrical fixtures are installed. The walls and ceilings are well insulated which also keeps the utility bills low. In comparison, a natural living development will not only have well-insulated walls and ceilings, efficient water and electrical fixtures, but will also have straw bales with clay and lime plasters that make our walls fire-resistant. Another benefit is the well-being of the tenants. The materials in a natural building are non-toxic, have no VOCs, and are v***r permeable. Foremost, natural buildings are healing to the mind, souls, and bodies of the people living in these homes. Target Tenant, the Second criterion. Our target tenants are looking to live in non-toxic homes that are sustainably built and feature a permaculture food garden. They want to be within walking distance of local shops and restaurants, and close to nature with areas to go hiking, rock climbing, off-road biking, camping, snowboarding, or skiing. They want to be within a short drive of natural bodies of water, to enjoy their healing qualities, and to relax in rivers, lakes, reservoirs, or the ocean. They want to live close to larger cities with transit hubs, music venues, nightlife, and cultural activities. With more and more people working remotely, people are choosing homes in communities offering a high quality of life. They are no longer bound by their employer’s location; all they require is high-speed internet and a suitable place to work. If they do need to go into the office for the occasional work meeting, they want to be close enough to get there within a couple of hours' drive or flight. Location, the first criterion:
The target locations for natural living developments would be in tertiary markets that are 1 to 2 hours from a large city with an international airport, a growing population, and growing employment. The town would have land available for multifamily complexes and be close to outdoor recreation activities like skiing, hiking, rock climbing, and mountain biking. The town would be within a short drive to rivers, reservoirs, and lakes and would have access to high-speed internet for working remotely. The community would be open to natural building, permaculture design, and self-sustainability. The community would have organic farms and businesses that make local products and goods. The target location would have good water sources, sun exposure, and an abundance of local forests for sustainable wood harvesting. Investors putting money into conventional developments don’t know the benefits of investing in a natural living development. We not only recommend looking at the economic return on an investment but also looking at self-sustainability as a multi-faceted criterion. As in all real estate, location would be the first criterion. The prospective tenants would be the second. Third, the potential for lower operating expenses as a result of a new sustainably built development. Fourth, the environmental impact, and lastly, the impact of the development on the community and its inhabitants. We believe that all these criteria equate to long term cash-flow, equity growth, long-term appreciation, and a higher rate of return, for the life of the asset. In the next several posts we go through each criterion one by one. For more information contact us at [email protected] or visit www.naturallivingdevelopments.com.

The movement towards a regenerative way of living is also pushing towards living within a microeconomic system. This system is locally based and less dependent on fragile national and global goods. In other words, people want to be close to their food and water source, in communities where like-minded people can help and support each other. Economic sustainability is based on the goods and products produced in that bioregion with little to no dependence on the state, federal, or global economic systems. If we can grow our own food, live in homes made from material from the land, and in communities that support self-sustainability, we will be less dependent on the government and less affected by economic swings. Natural living developments are the foundation of this movement. Our developments will feature permaculture gardens for self-sustainability, greywater systems, solar power, and passive solar design. Let’s create the change we want to see. Join us in 2023 to turn the real estate industry on its head. For more information contact us at [email protected] or visit www.naturallivingdevelopments.com.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!! May this be the year you reach all your goals! Help us reach our goals of re-envisioning how real estate developments should be built and disrupt the real estate market.

Most real estate development companies keep the community in the dark until its time to meet with the city council and have their proposed development open for comments. We feel it’s better to involve our community from the start. These large development companies that come into our community use market research and data points to build their complexes. We live here, work here, and our kids go to school here. We are invested in our community, and this is home for us. Our vision for a real estate development came to us because we have had hundreds of conversations with community members and can see from these conversations what is needed and what our community is willing to support. We would like to share with you, how we are poised to disrupt the real estate development industry. We have been working on this vision for over 5 years and have spent thousands of dollars paying lawyers to get us to this point where we can finally share our mission with you. Like the organic food movement, which changed how we grow food, and brought forward a healthy alternative to conventional farming, we too are ready to change the way we live and give society a healthy alternative to conventional real estate developments. We would like to start in our community, with your help. For more information contact us at [email protected] or visit www.naturallivingdevelopments.com.
