This has been the wilder, yang, electric balance to my typical mellow grooving and peaceful garden Buddha musical expressions. And it’s really feeding my soul. I love playing electric guitar! And group improv is what it’s all about.

Picked up this G&L ASAT telecaster style guitar from McKenzie River Music while I was on the road in Oregon… incidentally, the same store where I got that Gibson Howard Roberts Fusion hanging in the background (still favorite electric guitar)… in, like, 2001!

So many nice instruments there. Many of them very top shelf. This was a cheaper model overseas G&L, but it sounds and feels really good. Fun to play with that telecaster sound! 🎸 After all the fancy digital toy acquisition, there’s still little more satisfying than plugging a nice guitar into a nice amp and turning it up!
Excited to go back there one day when I have a little more budget.

I love these moments when I get to open up over the loop and do my improv thing. Sure… most guitarists like to solo (some won’t stop!! 🤣), so it’s crucial to balance it all out. But as someone who has spent countless hours of studying and playing with lead work 🤓… listening to the masters and trying to integrate a drop or two of their transmissions 💦 … it’s a highly crafted part of my art 🎨. So I’m gonna take flight when that part of the song comes around. 🪽🪽
