Middle School Volleyball Practice will start on Monday, August 31st, 2026 at 3:30pm in the Nespelem School Gym. Practice will end at 5:30pm.
In order for the athletes to practice they MUST have their final forms complete along with an up to date sports physical.

🏈🏐 HIGH SCHOOL FALL SPORTS UPDATE

We are excited to share that Nespelem School District will be partnering with Lake Roosevelt this fall to provide our students the opportunity to participate in High School Football and High School Volleyball!

We appreciate Lake Roosevelt’s partnership and commitment to our students. Our two districts are working collaboratively to make this transition as smooth as possible for students and families, including coordinating transportation to and from practices.

High School Football practices begin Wednesday, August 19.

⏰ Football Practice on Wednesday, August 19 will be from 2:00–4:00 p.m. at Lake Roosevelt. Additional practice schedules and transportation details will be provided to families on Monday.

Volleyball Practice will begin on Monday, August 24.

Before students can participate in practice, they must have:

A current sports physical on file
All required FinalForms/WIAA paperwork completed

Need help with FinalForms?
Nespelem School District will be open Tuesday, August 18, from 7:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m. Staff will be available to assist families who are unfamiliar with FinalForms or need help completing the required information.

Specific details regarding practices, transportation, and other logistics will be sent through FinalForms. We will also send families a more detailed update Monday morning.

We recognize that this information is coming to our families late and that is on us. We sincerely apologize for the delay. We know families and student-athletes need time to plan and prepare. We are committed to improving our processes so that future athletic seasons begin with earlier, clearer, and more consistent communication.

Most importantly, we are excited that our students will have the opportunity to compete, build relationships, represent Nespelem, and be part of a team this fall. We can't wait to cheer them on!

Welcome Back! Important Start of School Information

Dear Nespelem Families,

Welcome to the 2026–27 school year! We are so excited to welcome your children back to Nespelem School District and into our classrooms. While this year is beginning a little differently than we originally planned, we are looking forward to a wonderful year filled with learning, relationships, growth, and opportunities for our students.

The past several weeks have reminded us once again just how special and resilient the Nespelem community is. We are incredibly grateful for the patience, flexibility, and support our families have shown as we work through the impacts of the recent fire and prepare our buildings for students and staff. Our priority is to make sure our schools are safe, ready, and welcoming when our students return.

Important Dates
Welcome Back BBQ: Wednesday, September 2 | 5:00–7:00 p.m.
First Day of School (Grades 1–12): Tuesday, September 8
First Day of Kindergarten: Monday, September 14
Graduation: Friday, June 11
8th Grade Promotion: Monday, June 14

Our complete 2026–27 school calendar will be released next week with additional dates and information for families.

Welcome Back BBQ

Please join us on Wednesday, September 2, from 5:00–7:00 p.m. for our Welcome Back BBQ! This will be an opportunity to reconnect, meet staff, see friends, and celebrate the beginning of a new school year together. We hope to see all of our families there!

School Day: 7:30 a.m.–3:10 p.m. Our student day will remain the same as last year.

Breakfast: 7:15–7:30 a.m.

Breakfast will be served in our cafeteria each morning before school begins. We are adjusting our transportation schedule to ensure that every student who rides the bus has the opportunity to eat breakfast at school before the school day begins. Additional transportation information, including bus routes and pick-up times, will be shared before the start of school.

We know families have additional questions about transportation, activities, schedules, and other back-to-school details. More information will continue to be shared as we get closer to September 8. We wanted to get these important dates and times to you now so that families have as much time as possible to plan.

Most importantly, we cannot wait to have our students back. Schools are meant to be filled with children—learning, laughing, asking questions, building friendships, and discovering what they are capable of. Our staff is excited to welcome them, and we are committed to making this a positive and meaningful year for every student.

IMPORTANT SCHOOL UPDATE!!!

First Day of School: Tuesday, September 8

Nespelem School District Families and Community,

Following today’s inspection of our school buildings by our insurance company, environmental consultant, and property restoration team, we have been informed that we will need to delay the first day of school until Tuesday, September 8.

We wanted to share this important change with our families as quickly as possible rather than wait until every detail is finalized. We know families need time to plan, and we wanted you to know the new start date as soon as we did.

We also recognize that this two-week delay creates an unexpected gap for our students and families. We are actively working through resources, supports, meals, and other logistics for those two weeks, as well as the necessary changes to our school calendar. More information will be shared as soon as those details are finalized.

Our priority is to welcome our students and staff back for a safe, strong, and supportive start to the school year.

Thank you for your continued patience, flexibility, and support as we navigate the impacts of the fire together.
