A blessing for you moms!!!

I often feel as though I'm running on 'empty' — with a thousand phone calls coming in, words to write, meals to make, problems to solve... it can feel like I'm just going, going, going. Do you ever feel that way?
Like a teapot, we can continue pouring into all our various cups... our family, friends, homes, jobs. We aren't aware that our hearts, minds, and souls are almost empty until suddenly, we have nothing left to give.
However, once we allow ourselves to get all the way down to completely empty, we find that we're no longer able to be good stewards of the things which God has entrusted to us. In order to not only stay sane for our own sake, but love our little ones with a patient, gracious heart, we must have our cup abundantly filled on a regular basis.

Every Saturday morning for over 20 years, I have gone out to breakfast and coffee and some kind of treat with one of my girls or a friend and then ended with a long walk and lots of friendship talking. This rhythm is one of the most Lifegiving commitments I have practiced.

It is essential that we have godly women of wisdom pouring into us, speaking words of encouragement over us, someone who is in our corner. No matter how busy or hectic your world is, whatever state your to-do list is in, make time to at least talk with a friend on the phone, or meet up for a coffee and croissant.
You need your cup filled this week, sweet one ❤️

"I have collected all the full moon photographs I have taken over the past ten years. Of these shots, I have selected all the shades of color the moon has turned in front of my lens and in front of my eyes. I have chosen to present my full moons through a spiral arrangement that ends with a lunar eclipse." ~~Marcella Giulia Pace~~

"The heavens proclaim the glory of God.
The skies display His craftsmanship.
Day after day they continue to speak;
night after night they make Him known." (Psalm 19)

Autumn
by Emily Dickinson

Art by Jane Newland

The morns are meeker than they were,
The nuts are getting brown;
The berry's cheek is plumper,
The rose is out of town.

The maple wears a gayer scarf,
The field a scarlet gown.
Lest I should be old-fashioned,
I'll put a trinket on.

A New Informational Series:
Identifying Homeschoolers in the Wild
(Cue 1950’s filmstrip music)
Here we see the Homeschooling Mother, found in one of her natural habitats. Most often found in the home, she can also be spotted at Trader Joe’s, trying to corral her children in various waiting rooms of doctors and ballet, music or martial arts studios, and occasionally hiding in the pantry, eating chocolate, and trying not to scream. She is never not teaching. In fact, even now, she wants to tell me that I just used a double negative in that last sentence.
She probably had no idea at the outset that she would acquire so much information about bird calls, wildflowers and reptiles. Nor did she realize just how many ways she could teach “math” without actually having to teach math.
On her nightstand are ’s The Call of the Wild + Free/a book/a .clarkson book (or all 3), a classical novel she was never forced to read in high school, and a journal to record her journey in home education. Only three pages are written on.
She has a love-hate relationship with technology. She wants to be as screen free as possible, but IG is a link to the outside world and other adults, and sometimes Curiosity Stream on the tv means she can actually accomplish some housework.
God bless her, she often thinks she’s failing and falls into the trap of comparison from time to time. But her children will rise up and call her blessed for the years of sacrifice, diligence and grace she is offering to them.
Mama, you’re doing a good job.

You will teach them to fly , but they will not fly your flight .
You will teach them to dream , but they will not dream your dream .
You will teach them to live , but they will not live your life .
Nevertheless , in every flight , in every life , in every dream , the print of the way you taught them will remain ...
