Is the renewal of the 1-mill a tax increase?
No. It is not an increase. It is a continuation.
The 1 mill is the same as what Duval County voters approved in 2022. If renewed, it would continue for another four years and help restore funding lost from other sources.
The 1 mill must be renewed by voters every four years to remain in effect.

During a visit to Mandarin Oaks Elementary, Superintendent Dr. Christopher Bernier spent time in classrooms seeing the incredible work our teachers do every day to help students reach their fullest potential.

Our classroom teachers are a key part of what has helped Duval County Public Schools become an A-rated district for two consecutive years.
