The “why” behind our gym has always been to give kids a place to belong, where they can be in community with others of all abilities and backgrounds, having fun and getting stronger both physically and mentally.

We hope they’ll share a mindset after some time with us: to know *they have what it takes* to overcome obstacles in the gym and in life. 😌💪

Did you know our ninja obstacle course changes weekly? 😱

Monday afternoons are for course reset, when Coach Emmett and Jason brainstorm new obstacles for our ninjas and get to work, securing cross bars in new places, swapping out obstacles and handholds, creating a new agility path and adding variety overall.

Course design is led by Coach Emmett and based on the skills that’ll be a focus during that week’s ninja classes. Various obstacles that will train that particular skill, and the related movements your child will need to learn and challenge themselves on that skill, make it onto the course.

When an obstacle stays up week-to-week it’s all part of the design 🧠
Some of the movements or obstacles are complicated and require more reps and instruction, spanning more than one class period, to fully understand and master it.

Other times it is simply a class favorite and we will leave it up because the kids have so much fun on it. 💖

A big thank you to everyone that continues to bring in cans for our obstacle fund! We have collected over $250 so far. This fund adds to our constant reinvestment into the gym with new obstacles. Some recent additions have included a cargo net, floating monkey bars, the Alien, a pumpkin, and new salmon ladder rungs. 𐄳🐒👽🎃🪜

Our point is to keep our ninjas engaged and eager to come in each week and see what’s new! Not to mention seasonal decor and fun little add-ons (who remembers lobsters hiding in our vault boxes? 😂).

Which obstacle is your ninja’s favorite?

Level Up Day is this weekend, and it’s not too late to sign up!

👉 Why do we evaluate ninja levels?
Ninja is more than an activity we do for fun–it’s a sport that’s designed to challenge us and improve strength, skills, determination, and grit.

📍 All ninjas begin working toward their level 1 and can progress all the way through level 6. Each level includes various ninja obstacles, as well as strength and calisthenics challenges to evaluate your ninja’s progress in the skills they’re building in weekly classes.

💪 Our weekly classes build steady progress in all of these areas, and our levels are developed to measure that progress and support continuous improvement.

📈 When ninjas are ready to take their ninja training to the next level, our Level Up Days are their opportunity to put their skills to the test. On Level Up Days, ninjas work to complete all of the obstacles and challenges of their respective level.

👕 If they successfully complete those obstacles, they move on to the next level with a new set of challenges to conquer and a fresh new personalized t-shirt that represents their new level! If they don’t complete all of the level requirements, they get to continue practicing to try again at a future Level Up Day.

Remember: Level Up Day is OPTIONAL. We’ll have more opportunities in the future for your ninja to test their skills.

Our next Level Up Day is happening Saturday, September 26 from 1:00pm – 4:00pm! Register on our website to participate https://portal.iclasspro.com/flyingsquirrelninja/appointments/4

Move over plaid, the hottest fashion trend is repping the FF around the UP. When people see you or your kid on the trails or around town sporting the FF, they are going to step aside, and give you the right of way because who wants to mess with a ninja?

😎 Your kid will be the envy of all the other kids on the playground as they bend the monkey bars to their will in their FF hoodie.
💪 Studies* show babies that wear a FF t-shirt are more likely to start walking earlier.
🤓 Parents repping FF gear are able to multi-task 67% more efficiently.

One of the five elements of Ninja is speed. Now you can purchase your Forest Flyers Ninja merch and have it shipped directly to your house. No more waiting for an order window to close. Orders take 3-5 days to process, and then ship directly to you.

Our new store has loads of style, size, and color options and if there is something you don’t see, let us know and we can see if we can add it. There is even an option to personalize your order!
