From Judy:
If you didn't come last weekend, you missed a really fun party!
38 of us (including 9 spouses/guests) beat the heat indoors at the Whiting Boathouse, greatly appreciating its AC. Unfortunately Fran Goetz didn't quite beat the heat as he went by ambulance to Theda Clark after blanking out from dehydration. He is doing just fine now. Who left a red RedWings baseball hat? I have it....
Coming from out-of-sate were: Lynn Bellin-Krautkramer, Federal Way, Washington; Kris Mortensen, Minneapolis; Pam Pfrang, Fort Wayne, Indiana; Mary Hook-Kohut, Pinckney, Michigan; Don Geldernick, Elgin, Illinois. And Ruthie Charlton-Fallon from Tokyo, but she is spending much of her summer with friends in Madison.
Thanks to Roy Rogers for doing our music, and to Gail Peterson-Goetz for handling the boathouse rental. Lynn Guentzel-Karges brought some of our 50th decorations. The smaller group enabled more meaningful interaction and I, for one, enjoyed myself a lot more than I had time to do at our 50th. I think this brought our class just a little bit closer. Thank you to all who came and contributed yourself and lots of very good food!
The cruise/brunch on Sunday was warm and fun. 18 signed up, but we had one last minute cancellation. Here is a photo that Bridget Austin took of 11 of the 17. From left to right: Sue Sugden-Larson, Roseann Marta-Kopetsky, me, Ruth Charlton-Fallon, Lynn Guentzel-Karges, Steve Karges, Lynn Graebner-Kepper, Pam Pfrang, Gary Austin, Don Geldernick, and Skip Johnson. Not pictured: Bridget Austin, Roy & Darlene Rogers, Lynn Bellin-Krautkramer, Julie Mueller-Reinert, and Kris Mortensen.
This e-mail is way more fun to send than another obit!
Take care, all of you!
