❤️ A HUGE THANK YOU FROM MYERS CONCESSION STAND! ❤️

Another Huntingdon County Fair is in the books, and we want to sincerely thank every person who stopped by Myers Concession Stand.

Whether you’ve been eating with us for years or discovered us for the first time this year, THANK YOU! With so many wonderful food choices at the fair, it means so much that you choose to spend your money with us and come back year after year.

🧀 OUR FAMOUS HOMEMADE MAC & CHEESE BOWLS 🧀
These have become a fair tradition for so many of you! We love hearing, “I’ve been waiting all year for one of your mac & cheese bowls!” Knowing that people actually look forward to them every year makes all the work worthwhile.

🍟 HOG FRIES — French fries loaded with pulled pork BBQ, cheese and bacon bits.

🐔 CHICKEN TENDERS & FRIES — another customer favorite!

🥪 HOMEMADE SLOPPY JOES — good old-fashioned homemade comfort food.

🥣 And this year, because so many of you requested it, we also made homemade Pennsylvania-style Ham Pot Pie and Beef Pot Pie. We loved being able to add these traditional Pennsylvania favorites to our fair menu!

🍔 We also want to highlight our Angus Hamburgers, which have quickly become another customer favorite!

One thing we will NEVER compromise on is QUALITY. We purchase the highest-quality premium meats and ingredients we can find. Food prices have increased tremendously, but rather than lower the quality of what we serve, we choose to continue buying products we’re proud to put on your plate.

If you’re spending your hard-earned money at our stand, we believe you deserve good portions, quality ingredients and food prepared with care.

❤️ WE ALSO WANT TO SAY WE’RE SORRY WE HAD TO LEAVE THE FAIR LATE FRIDAY NIGHT.

We hated having to pull out before the fair was officially over, especially knowing some of you may have planned to stop by on Saturday for one last favorite. But we had made a commitment to be at the Make-A-Wish Truck Convoy to help support Make-A-Wish and the incredible children and families they serve.

Supporting those children is something very important to us, and we hope everyone understands why we had to pack up Friday night and head out. We truly appreciate everyone who came to see us before we left. ❤️

The best part of fair week isn’t just the food — it’s YOU.

It’s seeing familiar faces who come looking for us every year. It’s hearing that you’ve been waiting all year for your favorite mac & cheese bowl. It’s watching you come back later in the week for another one. And it’s meeting new customers who tell us they’ll be back next year.

THAT is what makes all the hard work worth it.

Educating Children on the Importance of Memorial Day

Why It Matters:
Memorial Day is more than just a day off from school—it’s an opportunity to teach children about history, bravery, and the importance of remembering those who served our country. Instilling values of gratitude and respect helps children grow into compassionate and thoughtful citizens.
What Children Can Learn:
- The meaning and history behind Memorial Day.
- Respect for soldiers and their families.
- The value of service and sacrifice.
- How to honor those who served, such as visiting cemeteries, attending parades, or observing a moment of silence.
- The difference between Memorial Day and Veterans Day.
How Families Can Participate:
- Attend a community event or Memorial Day parade together.
- Create patriotic crafts or write thank-you letters to veterans.
- Visit a local veterans’ cemetery or memorial.
- Watch an age-appropriate documentary or read books about American heroes.
- Bake a treat to share with a veteran or military family in your neighborhood.
Let’s raise a generation that remembers, respects, and honors.

Everyone knows I am not someone who engages in gossip, but that being said apparently my neighbor in the Mount Union, Kistler area, Tiffany Grainey had made a statement on Facebook about two of the children who had removed their coats at playtime. So this is for Tiffany thank you for expressing your concern regarding the children being outside without coats at 44° weather.
Per PA Childcare regulations 55 PA code 3270. 114 children must be dressed appropriately for the weather, but they are not required to wear coats at all times. It is common for children to remove their coats once active outdoors and they are always encouraged to put them back on if they become cold we closely monitor their comfort and safety during outdoor activities.
As a provider with over 30 years of experience, I found the children naturally adjust to their comfort level during play at Tiny Tots We provide lessons on freezing temperatures that make memorable and educational experience that spark curiosity and learning.
in addition to running licensed childcare programs, I’ve spent over 30 years in the therapeutic foster care, taking care of children from various situations such as neglect I work in partnership with Children & Youth and attend many court cases for real neglect we have experience neglect and an adequate supervision, therefore the children often end up living with us we are always ensuring the health and safety and overall well being of every child we come in contact with it is not only my responsibility. It is a lifelong commitment. I appreciate your concern and that you look out for children in your community but I ensure you they are safe and healthy and thank you to the many people that notified me on this, including my favorite Children & Youth worker

Thanks to Terry Putt Jr. Wayne Highway Motors for his vision to have an egg hunt and candy scramble for a group of kids that never have “their” day. Terry your vision was realized today as many disabled and special needs children had the time of their life and were made to feel special. Thanks for allowing Little Daisy's Closet to serve along side of you to help make your vision come to reality. Smiles and happiness were all over the place today. Thanks to all the business’s and individual sponsors that helped make this happened. To all the volunteers that helped today, this could not have happened without you. Thanks to Sheila & Rod from New Franklin Ruritan, Chambersburg PA for providing the venue and all your input and hardwork. The smiles and happiness make your heart melt. Happy Easter and God bless you all. Bigger plans are already being discussed for next year!
