𝐅𝐈𝐑𝐄 𝐏𝐑𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐖𝐄𝐄𝐊! WEEK 8 RECAP!

This week may speak for itself through these photos, but we made the most of our Fire Prevention Week learning all about community helpers through pretend play as doctors, nurses, firemen, and more!

We started working with letter Ss (recognition for our younger ones, along with sounds and writing for our Pre-K kiddos). Our numbers for this week were 3 and 6, and we started to work on the color Green, the Circle shape, and the sight word "like." We're still developing our AB patterns (back and forth) and horizontal line drawing for our little ones, and reviewing all of our line strokes for our Pre-Kers.

Our Little Smarties also got to play in bubbles, design a fire dog, play in sensory boxes, navigate roads in play cars, draw in Sugar, build some bridges, and tour some FIRE TRUCKS! This will be a tough week to beat, but we can't wait to try! Next week, we're going on a Bear Hunt! 🐻😉

𝐂𝐇𝐈𝐂𝐊𝐀, 𝐂𝐇𝐈𝐂𝐊𝐀, 𝐁𝐎𝐎𝐌! 𝐁𝐎𝐎𝐌! WEEK 7 RECAP!

This week was all about the alphabet! We moved from name recognition into the alphabet this week, and started working with letter Mm (recognition for our younger ones, along with sounds and writing for our Pre-K kiddos). Our numbers for this week were 2 and 6, and we continued working on the color Red and the Star shape. We're still developing our AB patterns (back and forth) and horizontal line drawing for our little ones along with crossing lines for our Pre-Kers.

Next week is FIRE PREVENTION WEEK, and we'll be looking into community helpers and bridges! Can't wait to see our kiddos back tomorrow!

𝐊𝐢𝐝𝐬 𝟑𝟔𝟎 𝐌𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐂𝐮𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐮𝐦 𝐒𝐩𝐨𝐭𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭: Safe Risk & Amygdala Regulation

When children are given safe, age-appropriate opportunities to try something new, they’re not just developing physical skills—they’re also learning how to handle uncertainty and work through the “this feels a little scary” moments.

The amygdala, a part of the brain involved in our fear and stress responses, plays an important role in how we react to those moments. When children experience manageable challenges in a safe environment, they can begin learning that new and uncertain doesn't always mean unsafe.

And that learning matters.

Safe challenges build resilience.
Resilience builds confidence.
Confidence gives children the courage to keep trying, learning, and discovering what they're capable of.

That’s why we intentionally give our kiddos opportunities to move, explore, take safe risks, and challenge themselves every day. Because growing strong isn't just about what their bodies can do—it's about teaching their brains that they can handle hard things, too. 💛

𝐒𝐌𝐀𝐑𝐓𝐈𝐄𝐒, 𝐒𝐌𝐀𝐑𝐓𝐈𝐄𝐒, 𝐖𝐇𝐀𝐓 𝐃𝐈𝐃 𝐘𝐎𝐔 𝐒𝐄𝐄?! Weekly Recap: WEEK SIX

This week our Little Smarties dove head first into the book "Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?" By Bill Martin Jr. & Eric Carle. We did Bear color sorting, a themed scavenger hunt around the building, a sequencing craft that followed the order of the book, plus MUCH MORE!

We worked on our numbers 2 and 5, more name recognition, the color Red (can your smartie show you how to say Red in Sign Language?), the star ⭐️ shape, our sight word "like," more vertical line practice and some diagonal lines thrown in there for our older kiddos!

We ended our short week with WEAR WESTERN or NEON, and our Smarties didn't disappoint! Check out all of the cowboys and girls who showed up on Thursday! 🤠

Next week is all about our ABCs (and a certain Chicka Chicka tree they climb up.. 😉)! Can't wait to learn all about it!

Little Smarties RECAP: WEEK FIVE

White board writing practice; numbers 2, 3, & 4; Star Shape; Sight Word "I"; Alphabet Trains; outdoor play; and Friday Fun Day bounce houses! This week was all about laughter, learning, leaping and locomotion!

We cant wait to see what next week brings! Don't forget Springer's is closed on Friday, 9/25!

🦘 Jump, Land & Learn! 🦘

It may look like they're just having fun jumping off the trampoline—but there's A LOT of learning happening in this activity! 👏

As our kiddos jump with both feet together and land on the mat with control, they're working on:

✨ Gross-motor coordination
⚖️ Balance & body control
💪 Lower-body & core strength
🧠 Motor planning & spatial awareness
🤸 Bilateral coordination
👣 Body awareness & safe landing skills

We love activities that let our kiddos move their bodies, build confidence, and develop important skills—all while having FUN! ❤️

Because around here, learning doesn't always look like sitting at a table! 🥰

💙🎉 BINGO with the BEST! 🎉💙

Today was all about smiles, laughter, and making special memories at Grandparents Bingo! 🥰 Our kiddos were SO excited to show their grandparents around, play a few rounds of Bingo, and spend some extra-special time together. 🧡

From proud grandparents cheering on their little ones to the excitement of shouting “BINGO!” — today was definitely one for the memory books! 📸✨

Thank you to all of our grandparents and special guests who came out to make today so much fun. We’re so grateful for the love, support, and joy you bring to our little learners. 💕

Grandparents + grandkids + Bingo = a pretty perfect day! 🎲💙

WEEKLY RECAP: Smarties Week FOUR

This week, our theme revolved around the book "School Bus" by Donald Crews! We learned about the school bus and other forms of transportation - and even got to tour a REAL School Bus - Special thanks to Needville ISD Transportation!

Among our learning concepts were the numbers 1 and 2, the color Blue, our 💙 shape, and still a strong emphasis on name recognition. We also continued work on vertical line strokes, AB patterns, and added a new sight word: "I."

Our fun activities included painting (and playing) with shaving cream, learning the ins and outs of motors using a play, driving cars, and pretend play in and all around school busses!

Next week will follow the transportation theme, but this time, all about TRAINS! We cant wait! 🥰
