EXCITEMENT ON THE TRAIL IN GLACIER PARK.
These hikers got more than they bargained for the other evening in Glacier Park. They were hiking back from a short jaunt to a pretty waterfall, and a grizzly bear stood up near the trail. This bear was eating berries, and simply stood up to get a better look at things. The hikers calmly kept walking down the trail, jumped into their cars without incident, and drove away with a great Glacier Park story to tell!
FRIENDLY REMINDER TO ALL HIKERS:
This reinforces the fact that grizzly bears can be anywhere at anytime along the trails in Glacier Park... even on a short waterfall hike just off the highway. So once again, here are our 4 tips while hiking in grizzly country:
1) Never hike alone. Two is better, Three or more is best.
2) Talk loud and make noise to make your presence known, so you don't surprise the bear(s).
3) Be aware of your surroundings.
4) Always carry bear spray on your hip or chest, and know exactly when and how to use it.
