Congratulations to everyone who participated in the Summer Reading Program!

Together you read 533,330 minutes! (or 8888.883 hours) If one person read that much it would take them over a year of nonstop reading!

This summer the school with the most reading per student was Broadmeadow whose active readers averaged over 19 hours of reading.

Hello Friends! Summer Reading may be coming to an TODAY, on Monday, August 17th (can you believe it?), but have we got a TREAT for you!! We'll be hosting the Needham Police Department in our parking lot tomorrow afternoon and providing us with an Ice Cream Truck for our End of Summer Celebration for ALL Ages! Children, Young Adults, and Adults alike are welcome to join us in the Highland Avenue Parking Lot TOMORROW, Tuesday, August 18th between 1:30 and 3:30 pm for Ice Cream of all kinds.

Come hang out with us and get a cool treat and some surprises! We can't wait!

The Needham Free Public Library will be running a food drive from August 17 - September 4 to benefit the Needham Community Council’s Food Pantry. Items most needed include snack bars, olive oil, condiments, coffee, tea, and macaroni and cheese. Donations may be dropped off at the collection bin located across from the stairs in the lower level lobby of the library during open hours. The NFPL is proud to support the Needham Community Council’s mission of “Neighbors Helping Neighbors.”

Summer Reading Dinosaur Race Update!
We had a lot of reading happening in the last week!

Broadmeadow is still in the lead with 10.3 hrs/reader, but Eliot is not far behind with 9.7 hrs/reader!

Big news: Newman with 7.07 hrs/reader has jumped into third place edging out Mitchell with 7.03 hrs/reader.

Collectively, our 787 registered readers have read 367,419 minutes! Or about 6,124 hours!

There's still two weeks left and this race is a close one. We've seen schools come from behind before, so keep reading and log those minutes to help your school!
