Our students are kicking off the school year with intention! Inspired by the story One Word for Kids, the class engaged in a goal-setting activity where each student selected a single word to serve as their personal focus for the year ahead. To reinforce this commitment, students designed and made friendship bracelets featuring their chosen words. This hands-on project not only encouraged self-reflection but also helped foster a supportive, goal-oriented classroom community.

Hillcrest Elementary was excited to receive Sonic/Echo Automotive Teacher Appreciation Kits from our friends at Philpott Ford, Toyota & Hyundai! 🎉
These thoughtful kits were packed with a wonderful variety of items to help make teachers’ days a little easier—from notepads and everyday classroom essentials to stickers and fun items for students. There was truly something useful for everyone! 📝⭐️
We are so grateful for your generosity and for the way you continue to show appreciation for our educators and support our students. Thank you for investing in Hillcrest Elementary and Nederland ISD! 🐾

💛🖤 A HUGE THANK YOU to the Nederland High School Key Club! 🖤💛

This week, these amazing high school students volunteered their morning to help with student arrival, and they truly started our day off on the best note!

These student leaders were out there:

🚗 Opening car doors with a smile
👋 Greeting our students and making them feel welcome
🎒 Helping kids navigate the halls and get safely to class

Starting the morning with high-fives and friendly faces from our NHS leaders meant the world to our kids. Thank you, Key Club, for showing up, serving our community, and being such fantastic role models for our younger students! 🐾✨

🎉We shared a post recently celebrating being a TEA “A” Rated Campus but didn’t go into detail about the distinctions earned on top of that.🎉

Earning even one distinction is a major honor, but "sweeping" all six is a rare and incredible achievement.

Here is a breakdown of the 6 distinctions we brought home:

🎉 Thank You to Our Amazing PTO! 🎉

We are incredibly excited to share that thanks to money raised through our Adventure Dash, our PTO has purchased brand-new equipment for our playground and gym!
⚽️🏐🏀
Because of your incredible support, our students now have even more ways to stay active, have fun, and build healthy habits during recess and P.E.

Here is what your Adventure Dash funds helped provide:

Playground Upgrades: 2 - 20x26 Shade Canopies with Concrete Pads, 2 Soccer Goals, 2 - Volleball Courts, 2 - Basketball Goals

Gym Equipment: 2 - Adjustable Basketball Goals (Installation TBD)

To the students who dashed their hearts out, the parents and families who donated, and our dedicated PTO members who made this all possible—THANK YOU! We couldn't do it without you. This community truly goes above and beyond for our kids. ❤️🏫

🌟 FOUR YEARS STRONG! We are officially an "A" Rated Campus! 🌟

We are absolutely thrilled to announce that for the fourth consecutive year of TEA ratings, Hillcrest has earned an "A" rating! 🏆

The good news doesn't stop there... We are incredibly proud to share that our campus also swept the board and achieved ALL 6 STAAR Distinctions! 🏅📚

This incredible milestone is a direct reflection of the dedication, resilience, and hard work of our entire community.

This is not just a victory for tested grades; it’s a reflection of the foundation that started in Pre-K and Kindergarten.

To our amazing students who gave it their all, our phenomenal teachers and staff who pour their hearts into education every day, and our supportive parents who partner with us—THANK YOU! This victory belongs to all of us. 🙌
