On Saturday, October 3, our Canine choir competed in the Texas Music Educators Association All- Region Choir auditions.

For this audition, the singers sang (alone) in English and Latin and auditioned against 20 other local middle schools. Voice parts average 200 singers at the audition and the top (30 girls/ 40 boys) singers earn the privilege to be a part of the TMEA All- Region choir.

I am proud of every Canine that auditioned. All 17 of our singers that auditioned placed in the top 50 of their sections. I am proud of them all.

CMS has 6 All Region Choir members this year:
Michala Carrier (6th chair Alto in the region)
Allan Galvan
Austin Gutierrez
Yariel Luna (13th chair Bass in the region)
David Rodriguez (12th chair Bass in the region)
Everlie Walker (2nd chair Alto in the region)

Thank you to all of the teachers and staff that sent encouraging notes to the students, they loved them. Every singer had a care bag with letters, water, and candy.

Thank you to Ms. Crane for accompanying our Canines on a Saturday.

📢 Gym Bleacher Project Update

Nederland ISD would like to provide an update regarding the replacement of the bleachers in the gyms at C.O. Wilson Middle School and Central Middle School.

In January 2026, the Nederland ISD Board of Trustees approved the replacement of the existing bleachers at both campuses, and the new bleachers were ordered. As part of the project, work began in early summer, including the removal of the existing bleachers, repairing the gym wall, providing an electrical source, and refinishing the gym floors.

The new bleachers have been successfully installed at C.O. Wilson Middle School, and we are excited to have that portion of the project completed.

Unfortunately, the Central Middle School bleachers have been delayed due to circumstances outside of the District's control. There are only four vendors in North America that specialize in these particular bleachers. We were recently notified that the Central Middle School bleachers have arrived at the Canadian border but are currently being held due to tariffs that have been placed on the shipment.

The vendor is working to provide a solution to the situation, and we are currently in a holding pattern while we await the release of the bleachers so they can be delivered to Central Middle School.

We understand how frustrating this delay is for our students, staff, families, and community, and we are very sorry for the inconvenience. We also want to be completely transparent about the situation and keep our Bulldog Family informed as we receive updates.

We appreciate everyone's patience and understanding as we work to get the Central Middle School gym back to full use as soon as possible.

Thank you for your continued support of Nederland ISD. 🖤💛
