We are so proud of our Officer Tanner! Highland Park is blessed to have him on our campus every day!
Today, I was proud to join the Nederland Police Department in recognizing Officers Christain Shetley and Tanner Thompson with the Nederland Life Saving Award for their actions following a serious traffic accident on June 18 at Twin City Highway and Nederland Avenue.
When officers arrived, they found one of the drivers was not breathing. Officer Shetley immediately removed the driver from the vehicle and began CPR, with Officer Thompson assisting until Nederland Fire Rescue and EMS arrived. The individual was transported to the hospital and was later released.
Their quick response, training, and willingness to act during a critical moment saved a life.
This is an outstanding example of the professionalism and dedication we are fortunate to have within the Nederland Police Department.
Congratulations to Officer Shetley and Officer Thompson on this well deserved recognition, and thank you for your service to our community.
