Congratulations to Ms. Meeler and her art students who attended VASE this past weekend. NHS had 7 students come home with awards. We are very proud of you!

Last night, Mr. Eric Brown was honored by our local VFW chapter and received the Smart/Maher VFW National Citizenship Education Teacher Award. This award recognizes America’s best educators who instill a sense of national pride in students. Founded in 1899, the VFW highly supports the education of America’s youth. VFW and its Auxiliary have developed a slate of programs dedicated to helping America’s educators. VFW Citizenship Education programs stimulate interest in America’s history, traditions, Americanism, civic responsibility, flag etiquette and patriotism.

Mr. Brown was nominated for this award because of his outstanding patience, technology skills, and time spent working with our kids at school, along with all of the outside organizations and community service involvement he participates in outside of school during his "free time."

Mr. Brown is a life skills teacher at NHS, the head of our Special Education department, and a former Fighting Texas Aggie Band member! We are so proud of Mr. Brown and appreciate his service to our country and to the students of Navasota High School!
