Grimes County 4-H members, parents, and volunteers celebrated at our annual Awards Banquet last Sunday to celebrate achievements from the 25-26 4-H year.

As we reflect on the year, many of our members experienced new learning opportunities, tried new events, and made new friends from across the district and state.

We are proud of everything they achieved and grateful for the support of our community.

A special thanks to Mrs. Leah Butler for capturing these photos.

We are looking forward to a great 26-27 4-H year!

Several senior level Grimes County 4-H members recently attended Texas 4-H Congress where they participated in a mock legislative session.

Texas 4-H Congress is a long standing educational event which has positively impacted many current and former 4-H members.

We appreciate Texas 4-H Youth Development Program and District 9 4-H for ensuring this opportunity for our members.

Help us congratulate Grimes County 4-H member Ivey Perry on completing her first ever Texas 4-H Horse Show.

Ivey competed in the Jr/Intermediate Pole Bending, Goat Tying, and Barrel Racing.

In the preliminary round, she was 2nd in poles, 5th in barrels, and 9th in goat tying. Ivey ended the final round as top 10 for barrels and top 15 in both goat tying and pole bending.

Grimes County 4-H Council members Camryn Colson, Caidlyn Colson, and Ava Gonzalez attended the District 9 4-H Leadership Lab last week.

Leadership Lab was held on the campus of Texas A&M Galveston this year and participants learned about topics such as emergency roadside assistance, differences in leadership and community service, and professional dress. They also attended an etiquette dinner where participants learned how to dine in a formal setting.
