4-H empowers young people to be true leaders.

True leaders are young people who have confidence; know how to work well with others; can endure through challenges; and will stick to a job until it gets done.

Since January, ten 4th grade students from the High Point Elementary student council have been participating in the Junior Master Gardener Program “Learn, Go, Eat, Grow” and the Sustainable Forrest Initiative Project Learning Tree curriculum.

These lessons were facilitated by Grimes County Extension Agents and Grimes County Master Gardeners.

Materials and supplies were made possible by a grant received by Grimes County 4-H from the Texas 4-H Youth Development Foundation in support of curriculum enrichment.

Today, we celebrated our volunteers and students with refreshments and recognition. We wish everyone a safe and relaxing summer!

Several Grimes County 4-H members helped lead almost 400 students and teachers through the Grimes County Farm Bureau “Ag. Day” earlier today.

Our members taught students about archery safety and proper seed planting techniques.

A special thanks to the Grimes County Master Gardeners for their help as well!
