For your convenience, our Department of Health nurses will be offering the Flu Mist vaccine here at our school on September 23, 2026. Your student should have brought home consent forms and information. The consent form, which includes a front and back page, must be completed and returned to the school by Tuesday, September 8, 2026, for your student to receive the Flu Mist vaccine on campus during our vaccine clinic. Please review this packet, complete both the front and the back of the consent form and return it to the school by 9/8/25 if you wish to take advantage of this convenient opportunity. This year, our health department will be administering the nasal Flu Mist vaccine to every age group of students. No student will receive a vaccine without a properly completed consent form.

Today 8/21, students will begin participating in our Compass Curriculum, starting with a lesson recognizing Florida’s Fentanyl Awareness and Education Day. This is in accordance with FL Statute 1003.42. 

Compass provides age-appropriate, grade-level lessons designed to support required instruction on important health, safety, and wellness topics. These lessons are developed to provide students with factual information in an appropriate and engaging format.

Friday’s lesson will focus on fentanyl awareness and education, including understanding the dangers of fentanyl, recognizing the signs of an overdose, and knowing how to respond in an emergency.

The attached resource provides additional information for families. We encourage families to review it and continue these important conversations at home. Additional required lessons will occur throughout the school year.
