Check, check… this thing on? It’s been a good minute!

Thanks to Ryan Plourde, a recently uploaded audience capture has surfaced on YouTube from the 2019 MAC Championships which features a more polished performance of The Breakfast’s composition ‘The Grand Scheme of Things’. Being in a gym setting, the mix isn’t perfectly dialed in, but this is pretty much the finalized & polished version of the piece we took on the road to WGI’s in Dayton, OH that season. Thanks for the upload Ryan & happy birthday to you sir! Hope you all enjoy this throwback!

25 years ago OTD, an album debuted that inspired our program from this abruptly ended season... take a few minutes, give this a watch. It won’t disappoint. Not to mention the outgoing seniors that got their year cut short, they deserved better. You Enjoy this show... keep an eye out for the reprise!

Well, today was supposed to be the Musical Arts Conference Percussion Championships. But here we are, in a place I never imagined we would see in my generation or those to come.

So for today, instead of focusing on what was supposed to happen, I invite you to take a few minutes out of your day and give your attention to something positive that did happen.

I told the kids that when we did this run through it might be the last time that we get to play these notes and to play it like it was going to be the LAST time. They did not disappoint.  Please do me a solid watch this video, share it, and leave the kids a comment on the YouTube link page. Give them the “virtual audience” and the recognition they deserve for all of the hard work that they put in to this piece that they should’ve had for a championship’s performance.

The world is a strange place right now and I truly hope that everybody is doing their best to stay healthy and taking care of themselves and their families. Stay safe out there!
