Fun Friday!

Our Rockets are earning their way to the fun! Students who lived out our ROCKET Expectations this week and had fewer than two infractions got to spin the wheel and chose a fun item from the cart!

We’re proud of our Rockets for making positive choices by being respectful, optimistic, caring, kind, eager to learn, trustworthy, and safe.

Our kindergarteners have been hard at work collecting Halloween costumes for students who may need one! Along the way, they’ve built a costume closet, organized costumes by category, and created posters to spread the word. We are so proud of them for learning the importance of kindness, helping others, and giving back to their community! 🎃👻

Do you have a gently used Halloween costume to donate? We would love to help it find a new home with a student who will enjoy wearing it!

Our fifth-grade Rockets enjoyed a field trip to Natural Bridge State Park, where they teamed up with Boxerwood Nature Center to explore the health of the creek!

Students tested the water to measure turbidity, pH, dissolved oxygen, nitrogen, and phosphate levels. They got hands-on experience as scientists while learning more about water quality and the importance of protecting our natural resources! 🌎

A big THANK YOU to Boxerwood Nature Center for providing this wonderful learning opportunity!

The K-2 grade students are excited for you to join them at the farm this Thursday, October 15 at 6 pm in the NBES gym as they present "The Sound of MOO-sic"! 🐮 🎶

Students need to arrive at 5:40 pm and meet in their classroom. There will be an all-school performance/practice at 1:30 pm.

Students can wear their favorite farm gear. Wear shoes you can safely move in. No hats please!

Science is SWEETER with root b**r floats! These little scientists had a float-tastic time learning, observing, and making scientific discoveries! 🍦

As our second graders wrapped up their matter unit, they discovered that the ice cream starts as a solid, the root b**r is a liquid that takes the shape of its cup, and the fizzy bubbles are carbon dioxide gas escaping to the surface! They even got to observe the ice cream melting from a solid into a liquid!

During our House Rally, we celebrated the end of the first nine weeks! We are so proud of our Rockets for living out our ROCKET Expectations each day by being Respectful, Optimistic, Caring, Kind, Eager to Learn, Trustworthy, and Safe! ❤️🧡💚💜

Our Rockets are earning points every day for demonstrating these expectations, and the House with the most points at the end of the first nine weeks was… HOUSE UBUNTU! ❤️🏆

House Ubuntu will proudly display the House Trophy this nine weeks! Way to go, House Ubuntu! ❤️
