Sweetwater Paranormal at the Whaley House

El Campo Santo Cemetery San Diego Old Town 09/30/2019

Hello SUHI Paranormal!

PLEASE BRING YOUR PERMISSION SLIP!!! (If you haven’t already done so)

As a group, I’d like us to meet at the big tree next to the Whaley House which is located at

2476 San Diego Avenue, San Diego, by 9:30 AM.

If the group remains at its current number, approximately 20 students, they’ll be broken up in to two groups of two.

The first group will get to listen to a presentation about the house from one of the docents, while the other group will go to Old Town State Park and visit the
Casa De Estudillo.

While you're at the Whaley House, realize IT IS A MUSEUM!!!

Treat it with respect, and if it says "Do Not touch," well then, do not touch.

Also do not try to scare one another.

Finally, while I will tell you to take lots and lots of pictures, you are not allowed to take video or audio recordings. That's not my rule, those are House rules.

It’s not mentioned in the Wikipedia link I’m adding, but the Casa is considered one of the most haunted locations in Old Town.

After approximately an hour, (the Whaley House isn’t that big), the groups will switch.

Once both groups are have had a chance to tour the Whaley House and the Casa De Estudillo, we will go down the block to the El Campo Cemetery.

The cemetery is the final resting place of Yankee Jim Robinson, the most famous Whaley House Ghost, Thomas Tanner, owner of an acting troop that performed in the Whaley House theatre,
And Antonio Garra, a local chief who was executed in the cemetery.

We should be finished by 1:30 at the latest, and students will be expected to have lunch on their own and go home the same way they got to Old Town.

Make it a great tour or not, the choice is yours.

El Campo Santo Cemetery San Diego Old Town 477 bodies were buried here, but not all of them stayed within the walls of the cemetery

Hi everyone! Hope you’re all as excited as I am!

Here’s our general itinerary:

PLEASE BRING YOUR PERMISSION SLIPS IF YOU HAVENT ALREADY SUBMITTED THEM

We’ll meet first at my classroom (Room 606) at 8 am to go over final logistics.

We’ll begin boarding the bus at 8:45 on 30th street.

We’ll be leaving for our trip at approximately 9AM.

Assuming traffic isn’t bad, we’ll arrive around 11 AM.

From 12 to 2 (Still pending) we’ll be touring the ship either guided by me, or a ship’s docent.

You’ll be on your own for lunch, and please DO NOT LEAVE THE SHIP.

We’ll begin boarding our bus to go home around 4:45.

By the time we’re near the Del Mar fairgrounds, near the 5 fwy, you should begin contacting your parents/guardians to let them know we’re approximately 30 min from Sweetwater.

Assuming traffic isn’t bad, we’ll be home around 630 to 7 PM.

Stuff you’ll want to bring

Bring a camera. (Surprisingly, they weren’t always attached to our phones.) Trust me, you’ll want to take lots of pictures.

Bring an extra charger or two.

A notebook and a few pens.

Last thing

See you Thursday morning
