Today, we celebrate the fathers, grandfathers, stepfathers, mentors, and father figures who make a difference in the lives of our students every day.

Thank you for the encouragement, guidance, support, and love you provide both at home and in our school communities. Your presence helps shape confident, resilient, and successful young people.

Today, we recognize Juneteenth, a day of reflection, celebration, and remembrance.

On June 19, 1865, enslaved people in Galveston, Texas finally received the news of their freedom, more than two years after the Emancipation

It is a powerful reminder of the ongoing journey toward freedom, equality, and opportunity.

In the Sweetwater District, we celebrate the richness of our diverse communities and the many stories, cultures, and experiences that make us stronger together.

Happy Juneteenth,

SUHSD is excited to highlight the Let's Go South Bay Girls Empowerment Camp, a free week-long soccer camp held at Southwestern College for girls ages 13 to 15 in the South Bay area!

Many of our own SUHSD students participate in this incredible program, which goes beyond the field by combining athletic training with mental health workshops and self-empowerment sessions designed to help young women grow, thrive, and leave camp feeling confident and ready to take on the world.

A special thank you to founding member and Montgomery High School alumna Carolina Soto for welcoming us to visit and capture this amazing experience. We are proud to be part of a community that invests in the next generation of young women leaders.
