📣Faculty Spotlight: Miss Finlay Cushen (Kindergarten)

"I am auditing a course through the University of Dallas Classical Education Summer Program, where we're studying classical education while exploring the history, art, and architecture of Rome.

One of the greatest blessings has been attending Mass, going to Confession, and praying at the tomb of Pope St. John Paul II in St. Peter's Basilica. I also had the opportunity to see Pope Leo XIV at his summer residence in Castel Gandolfo, where he prayed the Angelus and gave a reflection.

Our excursions have included ancient sites such as the Colosseum and the Roman Forum, where classmates recited speeches by Brutus and Marc Antony in the very places they would have been delivered! I'm also taking a course on Dante's Divine Comedy, making this an unforgettable opportunity to deepen both my faith and my appreciation for the classical tradition."

"We attended Mass at Our Lady of the Dunes in Florence, OR, while accompanying our son James (an SBCA alumni) to the National Track and Field Championships at the University of Oregon. James competed in 4 events and earned All-American honors. We had so much fun cheering on James and climbing to the top of the biggest sand dunes we've ever seen!"

A historic evening at SBCA! Last Friday night, we celebrated our inaugural Eighth-Grade Convocation Mass, honored two graduating students (Tommy H. and Emmie V.) with the St. Benedict and St. Scholastica Awards for their pursuit of wisdom, virtue, and holiness, and enjoyed a wonderful reception in our courtyard hosted by our seventh-grade families. At the end of the evening, we prayed Compline and then sang the Salve Regina. Congratulations to the St. Benedict Class of 2026—our very first graduating eighth-grade class! 🎓🌟

This year, forty-four of our second-grade students received their First Holy Communion at a beautiful Mass celebrated in a packed St. Patrick’s Church in Natick. We were blessed to have several priests concelebrate the Mass with our school chaplain, Father Peter Stamm. May Our Lord continue to bless these students and draw them ever closer to Himself through the grace of the Holy Eucharist.
