Lilja Elementary School PTO We are a volunteer organization of Lilja parents. Our goal is to enrich our children's education.

Lilja Elementary School is committed to providing excellence in education for all students. Staff and families work in partnership to create a stimulating, productive learning community where children can build on present strengths as they realize new possibilities. Get ready to Scoop Up a Good Book! We are excited to bring back the Lilja Read-a-thon for its second year!

Our Read-a-thon is a fun, school-wide celebration of reading designed to encourage students to spend time with books while raising money to support Lilja. Proceeds will help fund our Cultural Arts Program that ALL students benefit from. This includes author visits, whole school assemblies, STEM activities and more!

How It Works
Our 2nd Annual Lilja Read-a-thon will take place October 13–23, 2026.
Students will track the number of minutes they read during the Read-a-thon—anytime, anywhere!

Families and friends can support their reader by making a pledge. Every minute counts, and every student who participates helps make our Read-a-thon a success!

🎭 Be a Cultural Arts Greeter

Help us welcome the performers and presenters who bring Cultural Arts enrichment experiences to Lilja!

👋 Volunteer as a Cultural Arts Greeter to meet our guests as they arrive. When possible, volunteers are also invited to stay and take photos during the event.

🏫 It’s a great way to spend a little time at Lilja and get a peek at some of the fun enrichment happening during the school day!

📅 Choose the date and time that works for you, and you’ll receive confirmation from Joelle Russolillo.

To give as many families as possible a chance to participate, please sign up for no more than two time slots.

Save the Date! Tilly’s Annual Pumpkin Festival is Sunday Oct 18th from 2-5 pm. Fun activities for the whole family and a great way to support our school! Mention Lilja when purchasing your pumpkins and Tilly’s will generously donate the proceeds.

Thanks to everyone who shopped last night -- many costumes found new homes! Shout out to Lauren Molotnikov for being our Costume Closet Manager and for rolling with the expected weather, she had costumes sorted by sizes in bins ready to close up shop if the rain/wind picked up.

NEXT CHANCE TO SHOP: SUNDAY 10/4, 1:00 - 3:00pm at the Lilja Playground!

Important details:
- You do not have to donate to shop
- You can donate more than 1 costume
- 2 community collection bins available for convenient drop-off at 23 Strawberry Hill and 109 Walnut
- Donations of $2 - $5 per costume appreciated
- We NEED help for the next costume closet on 10/4, please give an hour of your time! Email: [email protected] to help out
