Lower and Upper Elementary students have begun their field trips to the Magullion Center, Riverbend’s satellite nature property. They’ve been getting to know the outdoor classroom, playing games, journaling and sketching, and discovering all that the grounds have to offer. We’re excited to see all the learning and exploration that will happen here this year!

Middle School students welcomed parents and loved ones to their first Open Classroom of the year at the Magullion Center, Riverbend's satellite nature property. For many family members, it was their first time visiting this beautiful space, and they enjoyed a scavenger hunt around the property.

Middle schoolers look forward to weekly visits to the Magullion Center, where they'll develop and work on their passion projects throughout the year. It's such an inspiring place for journaling, art, reading, and exploring nature.

Upper Elementary students recently decorated the Riverbend quad with scenes from the story of the universe!

As an introduction to their History and Science units, they traced the earliest moments of the great expansion of light and matter through to the formation of stars, galaxies and building blocks of life on Earth. Students worked in small groups to plan and create large sidewalk chalk murals representing what they had learned. Cross-curricular projects like this are a hallmark of Montessori education.

We had our first K-8th grade assembly at Riverbend last week. Middle schoolers did a wonderful job leading the assembly, and the community had a chance to meet our faculty and staff, sing, laugh, play “Would You Rather,” and celebrate all that’s ahead this year.
