🎶 FACULTY HIGHLIGHT! 🇵🇭✨

We are incredibly proud to celebrate one of our very own music faculty, Dr. Oliver Molina, who has been selected as a Fulbright Scholar! 🎉

This spring, Dr. Molina will take sabbatical leave to travel to the Philippines, where he will research and teach while deepening his study of kulintang with renowned musician and teacher Tusa Montes.

We are honored to have such accomplished, passionate, and globally engaged faculty at NSU! Join us in congratulating Dr. Molina on this incredible achievement and wishing him all the best on this exciting journey! 🌏🎶

We loved spending the day surrounded by talented students, inspiring music, and lots of opportunities to learn and grow. 🎼📚

Now, we’re looking ahead to September 19th for another exciting All-State Day! We’re looking forward to welcoming even more students for a day filled with music, learning, collaboration, and inspiration. 🎺🎻🎶

🎶 Did you know Northwestern State’s Recital Hall is home to a beautiful pipe organ? 🎶

Originally installed in 1983, NSU’s pipe organ has recently been reinstalled after being carefully cleaned and digitally enhanced—and it’s ready to be heard again! 🎹✨

The organ is a special asset for music majors pursuing NSU’s concentration in sacred music—the only program of its kind in Louisiana. Dr. Mary Deville serves as NSU’s current director of organ studies.

Come experience the revamped sound of this beautiful instrument during the many exciting concerts and recitals happening throughout the school year! 🎵

We can’t wait for you to hear it in action! 🤘🏽😈
