Dear Parents and Guardians,

We are aware that some areas of our community are currently experiencing power outages. In conjunction with Emergency Management, and in consideration of families who may be impacted, and to allow additional time for safe travel this morning, Natchez-Adams School District will operate on a delayed start today.

Schools will begin one hour later than the regular start time.

West and McLaurin- 8:30 a.m.
NEC/NOA/Morgantown- 9:15 a.m.
NMS/NHS/ Fallin 9:30 a.m.

Buses will also run one hour later than their normal pickup schedule.

Our goal is to ensure that students and staff can arrive safely while giving families time to manage any challenges caused by the outages.

We appreciate your patience and cooperation. If conditions change, we will provide additional updates.

This is a formal invitation: Parents and Guardians are welcome to attend the Parent University on Thursday, February 26, 2026, in the Natchez High Gymnasium from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. to explore and acquire various skills and curriculum to assist our students at home.

Due to hazardous road conditions and the number of families in our community who remain without power, the Natchez-Adams School District will be closed on Tuesday, January 27th.

District leadership continues to closely monitor weather conditions and roadway reports while maintaining communication with local emergency management officials to guide operational decisions. At this time, conditions remain unsafe for travel, especially our buses, in many areas, and continued power outages present additional challenges for families across our district.

The safety, health, and well-being of our students, staff, and families remain our highest priority. We encourage everyone to remain indoors when possible, stay warm, conserve heat, and avoid unnecessary travel until conditions improve.

The Natchez-Adams School District appreciates the patience, understanding, and cooperation of our Bulldog Nation as we work together during this period of extreme winter weather. Additional updates regarding school operations will be shared through official district communication channels as information becomes available.
