That’s one of the reasons so many church keyboard players keep beating chords, even when there’s a drummer sitting right behind them.

It feels like playing MORE should make the song sound fuller.

But when you let the drummer carry the beat, your keyboard can add something different to the music.

When you stop keeping the beat, you are giving everything you play more room to be heard. 🎶
