🔎📖 Teaching Tip Tuesday | Take a Closer Look!

Close reading invites scholars to do more than simply read a text—it teaches them to investigate it. With purposeful rereading, scholars learn to notice important details, analyze an author’s choices, ask thoughtful questions, and support their thinking with evidence.

💡 This Week’s Teaching Tip:
Give every reread a purpose! Guide scholars through multiple encounters with a text:

👀 First Read: What does the text say?
🔍 Second Read: How does the text work?
🧠 Third Read: What does the text mean—and what evidence supports your thinking?

The goal isn’t simply to read the text again. It’s to discover something new each time.

✨ Read closely.
✨ Question deeply.
✨ Cite evidence.
✨ Think critically.

Because when we teach scholars to look beneath the surface, we aren't just building stronger readers—we're developing powerful thinkers! 💡📚
