Natalia BPA attended the BPA State Leadership Conference in Dallas, Tx this weekend where we had two students compete in JAVA Programming, two students compete in Health Administration Concepts, & three students compete as a team in Visual Design. The Visual Design Team competed agaist over 40 teams this weekend and progressed from the preliminary round to the finals to place 6th in the state of Texas! 
I am BEYOND proud of what my WHOLE BPA team has accomplished. This is the first time Natalia has had a BPA and the first time these students have ever done anything like this!
Go Natalia BPA! I can’t wait till next year.

February is National CTE month!
What is CTE you may ask? Career and Technical Education. Career and technical education (CTE) engages students and prepares them with the skills they need for fulfilling careers in vital, in-demand industries and occupations. According to The Association for Career and Technical Education, many students are already enrolled in CTE in Texas, developing technical, academic and employability skills and engaging in work-based experiences with industry partners. During the 2022-23 school year, Texas had 1,189,533 secondary CTE participants. Why is this important? These young adults in CTE programs are more engaged, graduate high school at higher rates, earn industry-recognized credentials, and have rewarding and family-sustaining careers. CTE also generates billions of dollars for state economies and local businesses by providing a more prepared workforce. The bottom line is CTE is good for students, good for businesses and good for communities!

On Saturday, Natalia BPA (Business Professionals of America) High School Chapter attended the Regional Leadership Conference at La Vernia High School in hopes of advancing to the State BPA Conference in Dallas, Tx, in February. Natalia BPA had nine (9) students compete in multiple events. Multiple schools were in attendance from several districts including: La Vernia ISD (4A), Seguin ISD (5A), New Braunfels ISD (5A), Boerne ISD (5A), Hays CISD (6A), & Judson ISD (5A).
Natalia BPA had Sarah Kanagusico place 1st & Alaena Garza place 3rd in Health Administration Concepts, Dominic De Luca placed 2nd & Juan Montes placed 3rd in Java Programming, Danica Torrez placed 2nd in both Meeting & Event Planning along with Parliamentary Procedure Concepts, Camila Mujica placed 5th place (state alternate) in Prepared Speech, and the Visual Design Team consisting of Jerusalem Alvarado, Sofia Garcia, and Kira Jimenez took 1st place in the Region. This amazing showing by the 1st year Natalia BPA chapter has secured their place as state qualifiers.
