Songwriters of all backgrounds and levels: get inspired with our awesome teens at this songwriting workshop sponsored by Free Nashville Poetry Library!

This one-time community workshop introduces participants to the art of songwriting through the perspectives of three youth teaching artists that have shown their passion and talent for songwriting during YEAH! programs.

The session is designed to be welcoming to beginners, supportive of participants with varied lived experiences, and structured to encourage creativity *without* requiring prior writing or musical background.

The workshop is divided into three segments and each of the teen teaching artists will share a short talk about their personal approach to songwriting and then guide the group through an optional writing activity.

All ages are welcome and supplies will be provided! Donations are welcome and help to pay our young teaching artists and support future YEAH! programming.

YEAH! is proud to announce we have received funding from Metro Arts in support of our personnel and operating expenses. This award directly strengthens our capacity to deliver high‑quality, inclusive music education programs for youth across Nashville. Metro Arts’ investment enables YEAH! to maintain essential staffing, ensure fair and equitable compensation for teaching artists, and support the administrative infrastructure required to operate our year‑round programs effectively.

This funding also supports core operational needs such as program coordination, supplies, storage, insurance, and other foundational expenses that allow YEAH! to provide safe, accessible, community‑centered music experiences. Metro Arts’ partnership plays a vital role in sustaining our mission to empower young people through creativity, collaboration, and music.

Don't miss seeing YEAH! program alumni at all these awesome places this summer and fall! The Local Legends Tour is all about giving young musicians the opportunity to take the stage at some of Nashville’s most iconic venues and community events.

Each stop on the tour is a chance for youth to showcase their creativity, connect with new audiences, and gain real-world experience as performers. From practicing with their band to learning how to work with professional sound engineers and setting up their gear, every show helps them grow skills that last a lifetime, both on and off the stage.

Performing on stages big and small builds confidence, develops stagecraft, and helps young artists realize just how much they’re capable of achieving. Visit yeahrocks.org for more info!
