Belmont Global Honors in Harlaxton 🇬🇧✨
Sun-soaked days, castle views, and a community that quickly feels like home—Belmont Global Honors students are living and learning together in beautiful Harlaxton this semester.
From shared meals and late-night conversations to exploring new places and perspectives, these students are creating memories that will last a lifetime. Inside and outside the classroom, they’re growing not just academically, but personally—learning what it means to live in community, embrace new cultures, and see the world with curiosity and gratitude.
There’s something special about this season—friendships forming, laughter echoing through the halls, and moments that feel both ordinary and unforgettable.
In a place rich with history, students are discovering their own stories unfolding—reminded that every new experience is an invitation to grow.
✨ Living together. Learning together. Becoming more.

This week, Belmont University had the privilege of welcoming delegates from CultTech Association and Voices Berlin to campus for a series of meaningful conversations with Belmont Global and colleagues across several of our faculties and programs.
Together, we explored how to expand transformational academic and volunteer opportunities that equip students not just with knowledge—but with purpose, perspective, and a commitment to serve.
What made these discussions especially powerful was a shared conviction: that global education must move beyond transactions and toward transformation. When institutions collaborate across borders—with humility, creativity, and a shared vision—we create opportunities that shape lives and strengthen communities around the world.
We’re grateful for the partnership of CultTech and Voices Berlin and for the faculty and program leaders who continue to imagine what’s possible when learning becomes a force for global good.
As we look ahead, we’re excited about the pathways emerging from these conversations—and the impact they will have on students, partners, and communities across the globe.

Belmont on Global Mission 🇩🇴
This Spring Break, 20 Belmont students, faculty, and staff served in the Dominican Republic with Casas por Cristo—living out a mission rooted in service, partnership, and the love of Christ.
In less than four days, the team built a home for a family in need—offering not just walls and a roof, but dignity, hope, and a tangible expression of God’s love.
With a strong group of architecture students on the team, their skills met purpose in a powerful way. From foundation to finishing touches, every moment required teamwork, adaptability, and a shared commitment to serve.
What made this mission even more meaningful? Relationship.
Returning year after year, Belmont teams are building more than homes—they’re building trust and deepening connections within the same community in Moca. Through partnership with Casas por Cristo and local church leaders, multiple homes have now been built alongside this community.
This work is more than construction—it’s a reflection of God’s goodness. While a house provides shelter, it ultimately stands as a reminder that Christ is the true foundation.
We’re so grateful for our students, leaders, partners, and generous supporters who make this mission possible.
✨ Building homes. Building relationships. Built on Christ.

Belmont on Global Mission Feature - Costa Rica 2026
Belmont University Exercise Science students on global mission recently returned from Costa Rica, deeply impacted by a week of service, connection, and community in Sarapiquí. Alongside partners from PRAYING PELICAN MISSIONS and Iglesia Templo Hosanna, students served through school and community engagement, including playing with children, delivering food to community members, and helping with church care and maintenance.
What stood out most was not just what our students did, but what they received in return: a powerful witness of faith, generosity, joy, and belonging. Mission leaders reflected on the example of Pastor Donald, whose deep relationships within the community modeled what it means to serve with love, humility, and consistency. One especially meaningful evening brought students, children, parents, and church members together in worship, music, dancing, prayer, and gratitude, a beautiful reminder that the global Church is united across cultures.
Throughout the week, Belmont students grew in confidence and compassion. They stepped into leadership by praying aloud, building relationships with families, and engaging fully with the children and community. Students were especially moved by the selflessness they encountered, people asking not for material things, but for prayer, protection, and the wellbeing of their families. The experience offered a deeper understanding that, across cultures and circumstances, people share the same hopes for health, safety, love, and flourishing.
Missions like this reflect Belmont’s commitment to forming leaders of purpose, character, wisdom, and a heart for the world. We are grateful for the faculty leadership (Marnie Vanden Noven, Patrick Schneider, Emma Dishman), the partnership in Costa Rica, and the students who represented Belmont with joy, humility, and care.

Belmont on Global Mission: Nursing in Guatemala 🇬🇹
Belmont Inman College of Nursing students and faculty recently returned from Guatemala grateful for the opportunity to serve alongside CoffeeMed—an incredible partner supporting coffee plantation workers and their communities through access to healthcare.
Working near Antigua, students joined Guatemalan healthcare professionals, interpreters, and partners to support community clinics through health screenings, education, and compassionate care.
What made this experience especially meaningful was the power of partnership. Rather than coming in alone, students stepped into a model already rooted in trust, relationship, and local leadership—learning from those who know the community best.
Beyond clinical skills, students experienced something deeper: the impact of presence, humility, and Christ-centered compassion. They witnessed how healthcare is shaped by culture, faith, and community—and how even simple acts of care can reflect the love of Jesus.
One truth stood out all week: meaningful service grows through strong partnerships.
We’re deeply grateful for CoffeeMed, our Guatemalan colleagues, and Belmont faculty—Jessica Savage, Jacey Walker, Courtney Daniel, Jennifer Sternberg, Kristin Weicker—and a special thank you to Jamie Adam, DNP, RN, NP-C, whose vision continues to shape this mission.
✨ Serving with humility. Learning through partnership. Loving like Jesus.

What does it look like to shape the future of education—together, across borders, disciplines, and perspectives?
At SXSW EDU 2026, Belmont Global had the privilege of partnering with CultTech Association to convene an engaging and thought-provoking discussion on Shaping the Future of Education. We were joined by educators, innovators, and nonprofit collaborators representing nine countries, each bringing unique insights into how learning is evolving in a rapidly changing world.
From exploring non-linear, learner-driven models to reimagining technology as a creative collaborator—not just a tool—the conversation reflected a shared commitment to building more inclusive, adaptive, and human-centered educational systems.
What stood out most was the spirit of collaboration. Despite our different contexts, there was a clear, collective desire to equip the next generation with not only knowledge, but purpose, creativity, and resilience.

Belmont on Global Mission 🌍❤️
Belmont College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences in Honduras
What started as a week of clinics became something far deeper.
From Tegucigalpa to El Zamorano, Belmont students, faculty, and staff partnered with Jóvenes en Camino to serve over 400 patients through interprofessional, faith-centered care.
But the real impact? Transformation.
Working side by side across pharmacy, PT, and OT, students experienced the power of collaboration—what one called “the IPE event of the century.” More than skills, they discovered how much stronger healthcare becomes when we serve together.
Grounded in Christ and united in purpose, this team became more than a group—they became a community.
Students returned home not just with clinical experience, but with a renewed calling:
✨ to serve
✨ to lead with compassion
✨ to make a global impact
Because at Belmont, education isn’t just about knowledge—
it’s about becoming who you’re called to be.

Last week, students in Dr. Mary Ellen Pethel’s Global Honors course attended “The American Record: Johnny Cash and the Archives,” and experienced exactly that!
At “Cash on Cash,” they not only heard John Carter Cash share music and personal stories about his parents — Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash — they also had the opportunity to meet him afterward and continue the conversation.
For a class studying public history methods with Johnny Cash as their subject, this was more than a special event. It was embodied learning.
Students are currently conducting research at Belmont, the Johnny Cash Museum, and in partnership with the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. Their task: to research, write, and propose a fully developed exhibit as their final project.
On May 5, they will present their exhibit proposals and panels to internal and external stakeholders — stepping into the real work of historians, curators, and cultural storytellers.
This is what Global Honors does exceptionally well:
✨ Connects scholarship to lived experience
✨ Bridges classroom learning with cultural institutions
✨ Forms students who steward stories with integrity
Education at its finest reminds us that preserving history is not just about artifacts. It’s about honoring legacy, telling truths, and shaping the next generation of thoughtful cultural leaders.

🎭 Belmont Global Honors at The Human Voice
Belmont Global Honors students recently attended a powerful performance of The Human Voice at The Lyric.
Originally written by Jean Cocteau and later adapted into opera by Francis Poulenc, this one-woman performance explores love, loss, and the vulnerability of human connection.
For our students, the evening was a reminder that art crosses cultures and speaks to shared human experience. In Global Honors, learning extends beyond the classroom — through performances, dialogue, and reflection that deepen empathy and global awareness.
Grateful for opportunities that form both intellect and heart. 🌍

What a joy to see global community on full display at Belmont Homecoming. 🌍
This weekend, the Belmont Global Ambassadors hosted a vibrant booth at the Homecoming Tailgate, inviting students, alumni, families, and friends to step into the world — right in the heart of campus.
With international games, prizes, and candy from around the globe, the booth became more than an activity stop — it became a gathering place. Laughter over friendly competition. Conversations sparked between strangers. Stories shared about home countries, study abroad experiences, and global friendships formed at Belmont.
The turnout was incredible. From first-year students to returning alumni, so many stopped by to engage, learn, and celebrate the unique cultures that make our campus richer and stronger. It was a beautiful reminder that global engagement isn’t something that happens only in classrooms or overseas — it happens in community, in play, and in relationship.
At Belmont, we believe every culture reflects creativity, dignity, and the image of God in distinct and meaningful ways. Events like this build bridges of belonging and remind us that unity is not uniformity — it is shared joy across difference.
Grateful for our Belmont Global Ambassadors who lead with hospitality, courage, and vision. The world truly feels closer when students take ownership of building community like this.
