🎉 The Tennessee School Counselor Association proudly recognizes LaVita Winfield of Downtown Elementary in Memphis as the 2026 Tennessee School Counselor of the Year!
Ms. Winfield’s leadership, advocacy, and commitment to student success have transformed outcomes for students and families through data-driven attendance initiatives, restorative practices, equity-focused support systems, and meaningful community partnerships.

⭐ Chronic absenteeism decreased by 6.3%

The TSCA State of the Profession survey is for school counselors in Tennessee and the educational partners that support them in their work.
The information gathered through this survey will be compiled into a State of the Profession report that will be presented to attendees of the TSCA state conference in September 2026 and distributed to state and district leadership throughout Tennessee.
