Yes, the Messiah guy! Handel once got into a full blown sword fight, and the only reason it didn't end badly for him? A button!
Baroque composers really did not come to play.

Ella said it perfectly! Whether it is staying late in the practice room because you just cannot stop, squeezing in one more run through before a performance, or convincing your accompanist to stay just five more minutes - every singer knows this feeling.
Save this and send it to a fellow singer who gets it!

Joyeux anniversaire, Gabriel Fauré! 🎂🎶
Born on this day in 1854, Fauré gave the world some of the most beloved mélodies in the classical vocal repertoire - and if you've ever sung one of his works, you already know why we love him so much.
A composer who believed music exists to lift us above the everyday. We think he succeeded. ✨

This summer our students are heading out to some incredible programs - voice intensives, opera programs, festivals, and masterclasses that will push them, challenge them, and shape them into the artists they are becoming.
We're so proud of our students! The drive does not stop when the semester does. These students show up for themselves all year long, and summer is no exception.

Dr. Sokolnicki led a resume building session for our opera students recently, because great training means preparing singers for every part of a professional career, not just the parts that happen on stage.
