Celebrating a very special milestone this year with Anna Elizabeth - 10 years in the studio! 🎹

Anna Elizabeth surprised me by bringing her very first two lesson notebooks, back from the days when I would hand write lesson notes after every lesson. Flipping through those pages together was such a sweet reminder of how far she has come and how much fun we've had together.

It has been an absolute JOY to watch her grow not only as a pianist, but also as a young woman. Ten years of lessons, countless pieces, performances, challenges, and accomplishments have led to this moment, and I couldn't be more proud of her.

I’m already looking forward to her Senior Recital in just a couple of years. What a privilege it is to be part of a
students musical journey. 🥹❤️🎶

🎹✨ Celebrating RCM Success! ✨🎹

I’m so proud of my students for their outstanding achievements on their recent RCM examinations!

This year, two students earned First Class Honors and two students earned First Class Honors with Distinction (rare, reserved for masterful, professional-level performances). Even more exciting, all of their scores were above the average RCM examination mark.

These accomplishments are the result of months of dedication, consistent practice, and a genuine love of learning. Watching each student grow in confidence, artistry, and musicianship has been a joy.

It is truly an honor to be part of their musical journeys and to celebrate these milestones alongside them.

Congratulations to each of these students (Kate, Georgia, Caroline B., Caroline M.) on a job well done! 🎶👏🥹

Before summer officially got rolling, these three ladies wrapped up the school year by completing their 30 Piece Challenge!! 🎉 What a fun milestone to celebrate and such a great reminder of how much progress can happen one piece at a time.

Now we’re diving into summer lessons filled with music theory, new pieces, creative activities, and even learning “Happy Birthday” along the way. Excited for all the growth and music still ahead this summer! ☀️🎶🎂

What an incredibly BLESSED final day of the Spring Semester! 🎶 Today was filled with so much to celebrate ... a graduation party, a 30-piece challenge completed, celebrating RCM audition students, and a heartfelt homemade thank you card that made the day even more special. So grateful for all the growth, hard work, and beautiful music this semester brought. Beyond proud and grateful for my students. Now we’re looking forward to a summer full of continued learning and creativity. 🎹☀️🍨🎉 What a beautiful, memorable school year.

We had 4 students participate in the RCM auditions today, and we are so proud of all their hard work. This is our first time participating as a studio, and everything went so smoothly. We can’t wait to hear their results in a few weeks! 🎹🩷 Congratulations students.

A meaningful studio day this week with Bryce’s final lesson and Kate preparing for her RCM exam next weekend...one of those lesson days that just leaves you smiling all the way through. 😁🥹🎹 I sure love my students!!

What is one lesson you’ve learned from piano that you’ll carry with you beyond graduation?

I think just generally an appreciation for the craft of instrumentation and music composition, specifically an appreciation for all kinds of instrumentalists and musicians.

Who is your favorite musical artist?

I have multiple answers for this, I’d say either Micheal Gira, Kendrick Lamar, Björk, or Geordie Greep.

What is your favorite quote?

What advice would you give to younger piano students?

Stick with piano.

What do you plan to study in college?

I’m going to study a mix of English, Law, and Creative Writing.
