Adventures in the land of Dumble! 08/12/2024

Stephen Bruton was my dearest friend, we played in a few bands together (Christine McVie, The Lucky Dogs), and he co-produced my Walking All the Way album.
His Dumble amp came in our shop for a little visit courtesy of Joe Bonamassa.

Behold Chet Atkins Princeton: likely to be heard on hundreds of recordings. This one came to us from Micah Yandell, son of Paul Yandell another legendary Nashville guitar slinger. According to Micah, Chet gifted this amp to Paul Yandell somewhere along their journey.

We have seen many Princetons in this shop over the last 28 years, but they have had a resurgence of popularity in the last 10 years for their size, weight, and tone in many situations. The microphone loves them. Along with basic restoration, Nashville Amplifier Service offers a number of upgrades to this original gem of an amp including tightening up the low end, power supply, speaker/baffle upgrades, and a few other in house tone adjustments.

This Princeton was modded for Chet at some point by Paul Rivera. Micah wanted it restored as Rivera left it and as his dad and Chet had utilized it on hundreds of records. Princely indeed.
