It is a very special album to me, it was recorded live in Bridlington this last summer together with my British Violinist and friend Ben Couper - whom I have worked and done concerts with since we both studied Jazz at Leeds Conservatoire (then called Leeds College of Music) many years ago.
This was the first live concert I had done in a while after going through some stuff and the whole experience felt healing. The energy at the venue and in the music was very strong and I nearly felt like I was channeled through the music, through my voice and piano playing - and I feel like my purpose in life is to help others heal through music. ❤️
This is why I felt I wanted to put it out for people to listen to, even though it is not a studio recorded album.
The concert was recorded on a digital camera and then extracted, mixed and mastered by Dennis Moody in Los Angeles. We left the beautiful ambience of the church on the recording to maintain the incredible feeling that was present that day during this concert. 💖🙏
The album contains 15 tunes, including 3 originals. The 12 covers are a mix of jazz, folk and spiritual songs - in my own interpretation.
