Where are my people at?? I have loved learning about this writing approach. It has so many great components that foster confidence in writing. I also love how it can be implemented K-5 and built on each year. It is helpful to add models of essays and organizer to an anchor chart to give an extra visual! I

Snapped a lunch pic last week because I actually packed my lunch 4/5 days! Since returning from maternity leave, making it out of the house with my lunch had become the last priority. I pack so many bags each day and one more bag just seemed impossible. 🤪 A couple months later and maybe, just maybe I’m getting back in the swing of things.
Each day I made a quick salad with chopped romain, already cooked chicken, cherry tomatoes, and other toppings that varied. I kept the dressing at school and the mason jar did keep the salad super fresh! Obviously, I had to counteract the salad with Dr Pepper and jelly beans! ❤️ What is your go to for school lunches?

New colors, new grade, same passion! I love creating things for a new room. It has been especially exciting to begin working on things for a new grade level as well. I spent many weeks terrified of the change, but now that it’s a reality, I am becoming really excited! This will be my first classroom alphabet and timeline ever! ✅

There is a lot of my mind this week. As districts, including my own, begin discussing plans for August, I can’t help but feel anxious. I am that person who likes to prep for the upcoming school year during the summer, but I know that things are changing daily. I do know the one thing I can focus on is adapting commonly used classroom resources to be used in the classroom and through a digital platform. Daily classroom slides are for sure something that I will use in both scenarios. I also believe digital organization is going to be very important, so if you find yourself wanting to prep, you could organize your online folders and make sure every file is easy to find and has its place. I may need to repeat this in my brain multiple times a day, but it’s only productive to focus on the things we can control and the things that bring us joy! 💙 Has your district made any decisions about how August/September will look? Please share in the comments! The classroom slides are in tpt and the resource is jam packed! This slide is just a draft. 💕

One last bitmoji for the year! I saw this idea while scrolling through Facebook and I knew it would be fun for even fifth graders. On Monday, parents will come to pick up students items that I am bagging up tomorrow. The good thing about this, is I can put these in with those bags. I miss my kiddos and with all things academic going on, this is sure to be fun! ❤️ thank you, .cassady for the awesome and free letter template on . 💕

Classroom organization makes me happy! Call me a nerd, but putting together color schemes and making classroom layouts is a hobby of mine. During this time away from the physical classroom, I have thought about what organization worked this year and what did not. I’m looking forward to having kiddos in my room again and also being able to prep a special space for them! 🥰 .
