Vanderbilt University Chaplain's Office

Vanderbilt University Chaplain's Office Therefore we seek to integrate the programs and services offered by the chaplains and professional staff into the larger life of the University community.

Religious Life seeks to function in an educational capacity, not only for those students and groups who are traditionally religious, but by way of raising ethical questions and issues of value and character among the student body at large. Because we seek to educate the “whole person”, we view ethical and spiritual formation as integral to the University’s overall educational mission and religious

life as an important dimension of the so-called hidden curriculum of the University. OUCRL manages and implements major university programs including The Holocaust Lecture Series, The Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day Commemoration, The Chaplain's Lecture Series, Project Dialogue, GriefNet, President's Interfaith and Community Service Challenge and Sojourner's Quest. OUCRL also is the home of the Vanderbilt Interfaith Council and works closely with over 27 religious student groups. With and through our Affiliated Chaplains and Parachurch Leaders, ORL works with many religious traditions and groups.
