Our dear classmate Rob Hager has passed away after a tough battle with cancer. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and close friends. Details for his arrangements are below.

Celebration of Life for Rob Hager

We invite all who knew and loved Rob to join us as we gather to celebrate his life, share memories, and find comfort in each other’s company.

🕯 Time: 2:00–5:00 PM
A short remembrance will be shared by a speaker at 3:00 PM.

We’ll have light food along with beer, wine, tea, and other refreshments. If you’d like to bring your own drinks or something to share, you’re more than welcome.

Attire: Casual. Feel free to show up in your best “Rob impression” of what he’d wear—comfortable, relaxed, and true to him.

Please, no flowers. Your love was shown fully through your support and donations during his health journey, and we are deeply grateful.

This will be a relaxed, heartfelt gathering—just the way Rob would’ve wanted. Come as you are, bring a story, and help us honor a truly unforgettable person. ❤️lit

McGavock Raiders Reunion Cruise Welcome to McGavock Raider...

Hey, friends. I’m hoping for some input! 🎨
If you grew up in Nashville and attended McGavock High school, did anything noteworthy/ newsworthy happen during your time there?

I am researching for an art project that involves the history of the school. I have found a lot of things online… but I want to be able to dive deeper than what was just reported in the news.
I am finding visits from famous people (and a US President), tapings of shows on the premises, etc… but i would love any other info I can get my hands on.
•Were you in a group or a club that is no longer intact? ( when I was a kid, I could not WAIT to go to McGavock and be in Jazz Rock like my cousins Michelle and Gavin… but then it disbanded long before I attended McGavock! 😢)
• were you a charter member of some club/group/ team/ activity? And if so, what was it and what year was it?
•Did you attend McGavock because of a vocational class or other class that was not offered elsewhere? ( I mean … no other school offered Aircraft Mechanics or had a planetarium!)
•were you in the marching band when they won Contest of Champions or marched in the Rose Bowl or similar parade ?
•were you on a sports team when “we” won a state championship?
• Did you ever find that 3rd floor swimming pool?? 😂 😂 😂 🏊‍♀️ just kidding about that one!!
• were you there when “the cheese” arrived and was put in its place of honor? And do you know the story?
•did you teach /work at McGavock and have any memorable info to share?

I could go on … but I think you get the gist!

Whether you landed at McGavock in 1971 when it was new, or you attended with me in the late 80s, or even after that… We were all a part of something really special….the biggest (and BEST 😊)high school in the state of TN .
I am planning something that I hope will beautify the school while showing the younger generation what preceded them.

NOW-
If you’ll tag your friends from any graduating class of McGavock from the 70s to present-day, I’m hoping to get some stories/ info to give me a little more insight, and different perspective. If you can send me photos or articles about the experience you’re telling me about, that would be ideal! And don’t forget to note what year it occurred.
THEN- after I have a plan, who wants to volunteer to help paint a mural? (I’m talking about paint by number/ fill in the blanks after I draw it!)Im hoping my friends from graduating classes from about 1986 -1990 will come through for me!

Hey, classmates! The class of 1988 made the big walk across the stage at Municipal Auditorium 35 years ago next month. You read that right…. THIRTY FIVE YEARS!!!!
Those of us on the planning committee have put on some great parties for the big milestone reunion years… and I think we are all too old and tired now.
So… I’m wondering, how many of you would like to meet up for an informal gathering this summer? I’m checking into a place near our alma mater, but I still need an approximate count. Spread the word to classmates you’re still in touch with and let me know by commenting here! 😊 I was thinking one weekend in June, or we could wait until September or October when it cools down a little.
Y’all let me know your thoughts!

So…I happened to be at Big Mac today and look no North lockers! 😳 I don’t know what some of y’all would do in this situation.

Our hearts are heavy as we have just learned of the passing of one of our own. Joe Paty passed away early this morning. Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers.
