From creating textured clay art and colorful weaving projects to building towering structures with pool noodles and exploring the playground, campers are learning, creating, and having fun together. These hands-on activities encourage creativity, problem-solving, fine motor skills, and self-expression in a supportive environment.

π¨π Creativity is making waves at TSB Summer Camp!
Campers explored a variety of hands-on art activities, including building colorful towers, creating ocean-inspired artwork with shells and beach scenes, designing mermaid-themed boxes, and crafting mosaic treasure boxes. These projects encouraged creativity, problem-solving, and self-expression while giving students the opportunity to explore different textures, materials, and artistic techniques.

Wrapping up our 2026 Graduate Celebration! πππ
Today we're recognizing Nevaeh Valdez, a member of the Tennessee School for the Blind Class of 2026!
During her 13 years at TSB, Nevaeh participated in golf, wrestling, track, and cheerleading while demonstrating leadership, school spirit, and a passion for helping others. After graduation, she plans to attend Austin Peay State University to become a Teacher of Students with Visual Impairments (TVI).

Today we're recognizing Carson Umphrey, a member of the Tennessee School for the Blind Class of 2026!
During his 10 years at TSB, Carson participated in Leo's Swim Team, cheerleading, student council, and the recreation committee while building friendships and leadership skills. After graduation, he plans to attend culinary school and pursue his passion for cooking and travel.

Congratulations to Casey Sloan, TVI Instructional Coach at the Tennessee School for the Blind and Adjunct Instructor at Vanderbilt Universityβs Peabody College, on being selected as a 2025 APH Scholar!
This national recognition from the American Printing House for the Blind honors professionals making an outstanding impact in the education of students who are blind or visually impaired. Casey was nominated by Allen Huang, TSBβs Director of Statewide Services.
As an APH Scholar, Casey will attend the APH Annual Meeting this fall to collaborate with educators and leaders from across the country and continue sharing best practices that support student success.
We are proud of Caseyβs leadership and dedication to the field of blindness education.

Today we're recognizing David Sneed, a member of the Tennessee School for the Blind Class of 2026!
During his time at TSB, David embraced new opportunities through track, goalball, wrestling, and swim while building friendships and lasting memories. After graduation, he plans to pursue a career as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and continue helping others through healthcare.
