Meharry researchers are asking caregivers to complete a brief, anonymous survey about flu vaccination decisions, including how trust, health information, misinformation, and access barriers may influence those choices.
The goal is to help develop more culturally responsive education and outreach that help reduce disparities in flu prevention.

Many women begin experiencing unexpected health changes in their 40s and 50s — often without clear answers about what is happening in their bodies.
⏩ Weight gain that seems sudden.
⏩ Sleep that becomes disrupted.
⏩ Increased stress and fatigue.
⏩ Brain fog and hormonal shifts.
For many women, these changes are connected to perimenopause and menopause — yet this stage of life is rarely explained in a way that helps women understand what’s happening or what they can do about it.
This special event is designed to change that.
Join us for an important conversation about perimenopause, menopause, and women’s long-term health, where we will explore both the clinical understanding of hormonal transitions and practical lifestyle strategies that can help women feel better and protect their health.

Earlier this week, Meharry Medical College Vaccine Research & Education CMO Michael Caldwell, MD, MPH, FACP, visited the Newschannel 5+ Openline program to talk about the troubling rise in measles cases across the United States in the years following COVID. While discussing the issue with Openline host Ben Hall, Dr. Caldwell explains how declining vaccination rates have significantly contributed to the return of measles, a disease that was essentially eradicated, and why that trend raises serious concerns for children, families, and public health in general. Drawing on recent data, Dr. Caldwell presents infection numbers to help viewers understand what the numbers show and talks about what parents can do to help prevent the resurgence of measles and other dangerous childhood illnesses.
Dr. Caldwell and Ben Hall also take a closer look at the current measles outbreak in South Carolina. Using case numbers and vaccination data, Dr. Caldwell points out that unvaccinated children under age 11 have been the group most affected by the outbreak. He also touches on the gap between scientific evidence and the political debate surrounding the future of public health in the United States, and how those disagreements can influence public trust and decision-making.
A special thank you to Dr. Christopher Keefer, Associate Professor of Pediatric Medicine at Meharry Medical College, and Meharry Medical College students Samhita Ravi and Keona Gwinn, for calling in to show and contributing to the discussion.
