Meighan Elyse Waters was a lovely young lady, with a promising life ahead of her as a talented athlete with a passion for music. Tragically, Meighan lost her life in an automobile accident in October 2006. Elysian is a tribute to her passion for life and the performing arts. Meighan's philosophy for life was: "winning at all costs does not define who you are - what defines you is your own personal

struggles that you are ultimately able to overcome. That defines you as a winner." The Elysian philosophy upholds those ideals to make one a true "winner". Elysian was founded to carry on her legacy by her mother, Susan, and her father and our director, Randall B. Waters, and is named after her. Elysian Independent Winter Guard provides the youth of Middle Tennessee, ages 16-23, a place to learn, grow, and experience emotion in a performance setting. We travel around the southeastern United States, competing in local and Winter Guard International circuit competition. Providing positive performance experiences, Elysian has touched the lives of audiences around the nation.
