Good souvenir: a picture of yourself on eclipse day with our special Vanderbilt eclipse Snapchat filter. Bad souvenir: a ruined camera from trying to take a picture of the sun. Just like your eyes need special glasses to view the eclipse, any lens-based equipment like cameras or telescopes would also require a special filter. Don't point cell phone or handheld cameras at the sun!

Vanderbilt University multicolored eclipse glasses that will be distributed to University students, faculty, and staff at Monday's campus events have NOT been recalled. Safe viewing, Commodores!
VUMC recalls WHITE eclipse viewing glasses; MULTICOLORED Vanderbilt glasses not recalled VUMC has recalled the white eclipse safety glasses distributed at the Williamson County Fair over supply chain concerns. Multicolored Vanderbilt University, Dyer Observatory Vanderbilt Eye Institute glasses were obtained from a different vendor and are not included in the recall.

No matter how many pairs of sunglasses you wear at once, regular sunglasses can't protect your eyes from the sun. Good thing we have special eclipse glasses for Vanderbilt students, staff and faculty!
