Hey everyone, it was suggested in 2024 that we have a GHS Band reunion every 3 years so next year 2027 will be the year. I really would like to have some help getting in touch with as many people, across every year, to attend. My phone lists, email lists, and Facebook lists are very outdated. Due to my declining health, I am not sure how many more reunions I will be able to manage so could we put together a group or committee this year? Those who know me know that I love the GHS Band. We are so sorry to hear we have lost another one. Arrangements will be posted as they become known.

We still need a 4th for our bowling team. Monday Seniors (50+ years). Playing at Tusculum Strike and Spare at 11:30 am starting in just under 2 weeks. No skill level required. You play to your handicap and not to your raw score, so any team could win. Looks like fees will be about $16 per match. Team name tentatively is GHS72 since the three of us are from the same H.S. class. Get out of your rocking chair and come play!

We need one more team member for Monday Seniors Bowling at Tusculum Strike and Spare. Preferably from GHS ‘72. Organizational meeting on August 26th at noon with play beginning on Sept 9th at noon. So far it’s me ( Doug Hunter), Missy Chaffin Hunter, and Karen Hollis. This league will fill up quick. Hopefully we can get in on it.

Doug Hunter here -- Bowling is the subject. Tusculum Strike and Spare will begin Monday and Thursday Senior bowling in September.

Missy Chaffin Hunter and I are signing up for the Monday Seniors and need two more people to round out our team of four. Maybe we could think of a team name relating to GHS?

It's a noon league so us old folks don't have to worry about being up too early or out too late.

An organizational meeting will be on August the 26th at noon at the bowling facility. How long the league will last and fees will be discussed and set then.

Bowling starts On September 9th at noon, with warm-up/practice beginning at 11:50.

Not good news, but not the terrible bad news we have had to publish so frequently lately, either:

Jan Robinson, unquestionable one of the class's principal leaders, had to have triple bypass heart surgery about two weeks ago.

She spent 10 days in the hospital and has since been in rehab. I believe she is expected to remain there for about 2 weeks.

She is feeling weak and overwhelmed right now and would prefer no visitors, but cards would be nice.

Doug Hunter here. Looking into restricting access to anyone except members of the group, it looks like we need to get an admin with full access to do it. I suspect that would be Sam Whitson or Jan Robinson.

I think when/ if we do that EVERYONE will need to apply and prove a connection to GHS 72 to be a member and be approved by an admin.

It’s pretty vile that the spammers don’t care that they post their T shirt peddling scams even on our obituaries. ( Yes, I know they are foreign in origin and likely posted by ‘bots).

Not sure why I can’t tag Sam on this??

T shirt and other scammers have been rampant on here lately. What do you all think of the group becoming restricted to members only? Others could see the group, but could not post unless they became admin approved members.
