The holiday season should feel joyful… but for so many parents, it ends up being the season with the least margin and the highest mental load.
This week I share a newsletter that breaks down 7 holiday DOs & DON’Ts to help you create more capacity and actually enjoy this season. The heart of it?
✨ Doing more doesn’t make the season meaningful. Being present does.
A few highlights:
🎄 You don’t have to do every tradition.
Pick one or two that bring real joy to your family this year. Simple, flexible memories are the ones kids remember most.
🗓️ Kids thrive on knowing what’s coming.
December is overstimulating. Having a visible calendar (even a simple one on the fridge) helps everyone feel more grounded and reduces the “Wait… that’s tonight?!” moments.
📆 Most of us sprinkle PTO in like paper cuts and wonder why we never actually feel rested. Your nervous system can’t flip between work and holiday mode like a light switch. Even a 2–3 day stretch off can shift your whole presence
If you’re craving a season that feels lighter, calmer, and more meaningful for your whole family, you can read more here:

I often ask my clients, “What does success look like for you?” because having a clear definition gives us the focus and confidence to move toward their goals with intention.
Without that, it’s easy to get lost in distractions or measure success by someone else’s standards.
Defining success on *your terms* helps you stay the course, make intentional decisions, and adapt with purpose.
Here are some broader questions to ask when it comes to home and family life:
~ What does enough 💰 look like for your family?
~ Does your family have a mission, vision statement or a guiding message to point back to?
~ What is your ideal day or state when it comes to work and home life?
And with smaller tasks, it can be as simple as:
~ Here’s what I think “good” looks like when it comes to . What does it look like to you?
I’d love to know if this resonated with you and your answers to these questions about success ✨💙🏆

FULL REVIEW IN CAPTION ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Hi Caroline! I wanted to let you know that your talk the other night got me thinking about how my husband and I need to be more proactive going into PP for baby #3. We have a 5 year old and 3 year old and both work full time.
💙⭐️When we aren’t sleep deprived, we make a great team! ⭐️💙
But PP has always been a struggle for us, especially now that it means for him juggling pretty much everything we divide and conquer on now - taking care of the older kids, cooking dinner, getting the boys ready for bed, cleaning the kitchen, laundry, etc.
Right now we split up those tasks and take turns and make it work, though we have been feeling burnt out lately before even adding #3. For at least a few weeks, I’ll be recovering, not very helpful with the older kids, and breastfeeding around the clock.
✅✅✅ We *know* from past experience that this is a recipe for resentment.
So your talk got me thinking and we hired a “home helper” to come several times a week and do laundry, tidy up the house, clean dishes, etc. We just started, but it’s already amazing to come downstairs after getting the kids to bed and not have an hour plus of kitchen cleaning, toy tidying and laundry to do.
✨I actually got to just watch a show and go to bed for the first time in forever! ✨
💰 And the cost was the same as if we’d taken our family to Chick Fil A for dinner, but we got way more out of that money - 3 loads of laundry washed, folded and put away and the whole house reset! “

✨INTRODUCTION✨
Hi there! 👋🏻I’m so glad you’re here. My name is Caroline and I’m the founder of Home Team.
When my marriage turned nine, we hit a breaking point. Between the pandemic, two moves in two years, a new job, and welcoming our second child, life felt overwhelming. We were drowning in chores and schedules, with no energy left for enjoying each other or our home. What worked when life was simpler no longer held up under the weight of everything we were juggling.
Because of that, we reimagined how we run our home and family, creating a system that feels less like survival and more like teamwork.
✨We realized that thriving as a family wasn’t about doing more—it was about doing things differently ✨
Now, I want to share that system with you because I know how heavy it can feel when the daily grind takes over.
That’s why I started Home Team 💙🏆✨. It’s about helping families simplify the chaos, get on the same page, and make space for what matters most. Whether it’s streamlining schedules, tackling to-dos, or just figuring out how to enjoy home life again, I want to equip you with the tools to feel more in control and less overwhelmed.
Because no one should have to manage all of this alone—and with the right approach, your family can truly thrive.
⬇️ So tell me: What’s the one thing that feels hardest right now? I’d love to help you tackle it.

It takes more than beautiful baskets and handsome hangers to organize a closet.
I’m guessing you may know a thing or two about that, though. And my crystal ball also tells me you’ve attempted to “get organized” more than once. You’ve bought the books, pinned all the things and put out a good effort in getting your stuff in order but nothing ever sticks. Been there, done that, got the t-shirt.
So, what does a former PICU nurse, Vanderbilt Owen Grad (Go Dores!) and house flipper know about organizing? Well, for one thing, I’ve been doing this since I first lined up my stuffed animals from largest to smallest. Don’t believe me? Ask my mom. I once spent an entire summer in high school cataloging 10 years of photos in chronological order. My favorite past time: organizing the toy closet rather than playing with the stuff inside. Oh, and if I come over to your house, I will probably color-code your bookshelves.
One thing I’ve learned through all of my adventures → We’ve got to build sustainable, repeatable processes in order to achieve and maintain quality results. Yep, using that Master’s degree in biz 101 here. So, I set out to perfect the organizing process I have been implementing since I was 5.
See, order is what saves me in seasons of busy. It’s what gives me that little bit of margin I need to keep going, to breathe, to reset. It’s what helps me cope with my anxiety and slightly OCD tendencies during times of stress. BUT it is also what allows me to truly ENJOY the gifts I have been given and be present with those I love most, namely that sweet baby boy who keeps showing up among the ROYGBIV in my insta feed. And I want the same for YOU.
