Greetings Hillwood High School Band Fans!

It's an understatement to say we're all incredibly happy to be back to school- we missed our kiddos! Now that we're back together, we have a couple of quick items for your 411:

If you haven't heard already, after seven years as band director, Mr. Zolkower has moved on to Music For All as an Education and Advocacy Coordinator. We'll miss him and the positive impact he's had on the program for so long, but we wish him the very best.

That said, we're thrilled to announce that our own Mr. Schuman will take the reins as band director! Mr. Schuman has already worked with the kids and has all the knowledge and experience required to elevate the program this year and create a fantastic environment for them to shine musically and personally.

Also, after some rearranging, we're pleased to announce that in lieu of marching, our talented kids will participate in pep band this year. We feel this will give them lots of room to stretch their wings and ease back into the swing of things while challenging them to play better than ever.

We know this is the best arrangement for the kids, and we're looking forward to watching them bring their unique energy to the games. Most importantly, we're looking forward to lots of fun!

It really is great to laugh and work together again (with a dash of goofing off for good measure)- it's a privilege to watch your children's creativity and development bloom. Thanks so much.

BSA Troop 87 Tree Lot, located at 121 Davidson Road (Belle Meade UMC), has served Belle Meade and surrounding areas for decades. Lot hours are 3:30-8 Tuesday through Friday, 10-8 on Saturday, and 11:30-8 on Sunday. Delivery is available within an approximately ten-mile radius.

After Christmas, The Hillwood Band will haul away and recycle your tree for a minimum donation of $10. Schedule today at thehillwoodband.org!
